Would be nice if the dashboard itself would alert you to things like this. "server Shutdown Achievment Party!" etc.
There were a tick over 500 on today. Starting dropping off about 50 minutes in.

Well at least i got a achievement for online play.
I tried getting that achievement but I couldn't find any ranked or unranked games and I was on for a whole half hour. I guess everyone else was sitting in the lobby.
Anyway, I think we put forth a decent effort but I don't think this game will ever have 1000 players on at the same time again. It's to bad Bungie didn't make an achievement like this for Halo 3, where you'd need to be online at the same time as 200,000-500,000 other players.
