    Default NES Power Set

Someone I know has one of these in what appears to be really good-to-mint condition. It's basically the set I want the least, but I still really want a CIB NES set. What do you guys think it's worth? (Including shipping I suppose). I'm thinking I'd like to pay ~$35 for it. Is that too low? He doesn't know what to ask for it, and I have no idea what to offer. I'm not going to buy it unless I get a really good deal, but I'm not trying to lowball either.

If the person would accept it for that, then sure, but I think that's fairly low. Cheapest I see these are $50. A typical store price would be $100. So there's the range.

I see. Maybe I'll go like $40-45 then. Thanks for the input.

if $35 is what you want to pay its very doable and more than reasonable, it just may take some time to find one for that much. if you check craigslist often and garage sales you might even find one cheaper.

right, that's why my price is so low. I go to garage sales and fleas every weekend, so it just wouldn't be smart to pay a lot for it.

Thanks! It was actually part of an April Fools Day post from the now-defunct gaming news site thegia.com

And yeah, you can get just about any NES set for cheap if you're willing to wait long enough and look hard enough. But it all comes down to luck and patience. I've gotten several cib NES sets, but I've yet to get a mint one, or one that was 100% complete (I've had to add stuff I had lying around, like a cart or a gun or something). Also, every single one I've gotten was part of a larger bundle and so I had to pay more upfront for the bundle.
