keep the show in august for 2010. I have my own show being slated for the fourth sat of July and if CGE is in july I would have to cancel mine so I can attend CGE.

It's been the most exciting October for CGE EVER. You know the way this usually goes - we're usually still hibernating at this time of year and emerge somewhere in the beginning of the year to start planning. Then typically in February you'd get the date. It's been a much different cycle THIS time around, with more options in Vegas than ever before and a very excited core of CGE organizers, attendees, and even alumni (guest speakers).
I've personally had a really empty feeling these past two Augusts. With all of the excitement building up to CGE's past it's been really weird just going about my day-to-day business in Augusts with nothing to "deliver".
Stay tuned for more official stuff, but the goal is to have the place and date announced before 2009 is over.
San Diego Comic-Con is July 22-25, so it might be a good idea to avoid that weekend (which you probably will since you mentioned August).
Didn't expect this at all! I will try my best to make it out there. Awesome to hear the show is coming back!
will make it next year fo sho
My wife just brought up CGE yesterday, asking if there was going to be one next year. We are hoping to make it out there for it and the Cirque de Soleil Beatles show. Probably see my parents too.

Otakon is July 30th-August 1st.
I talked to Walter Day of Twin Galaxies last weekend at Infinite Bits and he told me that the grand opening of the Hall of Fame in Otumwa will be the August 5-8 (or sometime that weekend).
I'm keeping the rest of August open.
CGE 2kX! Woohoo, it's about time it came back... I haven't dusted off my museum-display games in 2 years!
w00t!
I might finally make it out to CGE for the first time ever. Time to start plannin.
I'm hoping to get out there next year for CGE.
If things go as planned (and I won't know this for a few weeks), I will organize a #vbender get together party. Everyone will be invited, of course.
<Evan_G> i keep my games in an inaccessable crate where i can't play them
For those of you on Facebook, I just set up a group. Really meant for "non forum members", as you'll hear everything here first, but better for posting photos and videos. If you've been to CGE before and have memorable pictures or video, please join this group:

I deleted my FB post since this is the "more official" place. :-)
I've done tables at two OVGEs and would like to do CGE. Sounds like a lot of fun.
My main question concerns how "family friendly" it is. I bring my 10 year old son to help with the table and he really enjoyed the last three OVGEs. Jesse makes a point of having a family friendly event.
Just wondering if CGE is the same. I've heard stores of other events that would definitely rule out bringing along any kids (for me, anyway).

There are parts of CGE that are not kid friendly (the DP party comes to mind), but the show itself would be fine for Nathan. I'd imagine he'd have a ton of fun actually! You might ask Pantechnicon as he brought his son to the last one. I seem to remember him hanging out at the DP booth (they bring couches) playing his DS and just having fun.

I've been wanting to go to CGE again for a VERY long time. I'll be there, with bells on.

I plan on going this year

My daughter came to the Kali shows and had a great time. She was born in 2000 so you can guess the age at the time of the shows.
The only things you might want to avoid are the DP Party. Not bad but it is meant more for the kid in an adult body.
Show setup and tear down might be another time to avoid unless your sure about your child's ability to help while staying safe.
