Default Retro Gamer for US citizens

Sorry about the spammy nature of this, but I know that a lot of occassional US readers have been put off by Retro Gamer's high price and we've managed to rectify it.

Anyway, as of next issue you'll be able to buy RG from the likes of Borders and Barnes and Nobles for just $10

On top of this a subscription for 13 issues will cost you just $80, far cheaper than the previous offer.

To get this great deal just head to www.imaginesubs.co.uk/RET and type in YOUTUBE in capital letters.

I see that it's supposed to be 50 pounds for US residents, but when I checked out, it still came up 80 pounds. I sent an email and hopefully it will be corrected prior to billing my credit card.

I thought you could always buy it for $10. I used to buy it when i lived in the states (many moons ago) and I thought it was $10 or less. I know it was less than $10 when I bought it in Malaysia....

Nope, I've been paying far more than $10 for mine. But I still look forward to seeing a new issue on the shelves anyway. Even though Barnes & Noble stores don't always stock it, and I end up driving to several locations to find the latest issue.

It's definately $80 (which works out at £50 for the year) I'm on holiday at the mo, but getting someone to look into it now.

I've been picking them up at Barnes and Nobles for years, but a subscription would be nice. I'm just concerned that they will show up in bad shape from travel from the UK.

Any chance we might be able to get them closer to their release date? It seems they are always a month or two behind.

    I used this one:

    www.imaginesubs.co.uk/RET

and it asked for the code, which I put in, but it still rang up as 80 instead of 50 pounds.

i've bought a few issues at retail for about 10.25 I believe. Pretty typical for a UK magazine. My subscription set me back 110 or so I believe. Expensive but I've loved reading it. Might resubscribe depends on whether I will have the time, money, and continue playing games....

    this price drop is helpful!

I have been reading and collecting your mag since 2004. I even bought the iPhone app. Can't wait to see it on an iPad.
Just bought the recent issue with Rainbow Islands as the feature.

I love your magazine, no matter if it's 10 or 20 bucks. Great work.

It seems this code actually does work now, and for Canada too no less.
Too bad this is long after the fact it did not work at the time of my renewal several months ago. All I can say is I hope this or a similar offer applies next summer when I may plan to renew for my 5th year of RG. If not, that might be the end of it for me as 80 sterling is a lot, even at the present exchange rates.
    Whaddya mean invalid parameters?!

9,000 gigs of ram and it still can't answer a simple question!

When I go to this page it states "Choose your country from the list below" but there is NO list below. The price is still 50 pound but I guess the deal is gone for us on this side of the Atlantic....

Has anyone tried the CD versions from RetroGamer? A compilation of past issues. Are they PDFs and how is the quality?

I have the one thats issues 1-30, then my collection picks up in paper form 31-present. The CD-ROM is PDF, you can zoom in/out on the pages, but every so often there's a "blank" page that says "e-mag" right in the middle. It saves space of course, but it's easier to read a mag wherever/whenever.

The gaps are due to adverts or the fact that not everyone who wrote for Retro Gamer in the Live days signed a contract with Imagine, so technically those pieces can't be reused without their permission. Hence their omission.

I just got a resubscription notice, with a code for the price of 66GBP. I instead typed in the YOUTUBE code, and it still rings up the price at 50GBP!

    Damnit!

Another awesome thing I didn't know about. Now I want the back issues I've missed.
