If it was just the Atari and Odyssey stuff, I'd say you paid too much. The Popeye game is pretty hard to come by. Does it work? Also, there were three different Popeye portables back then, and I believe they grow in value (by a bunch) the bigger they are.
1. Game & Watch handheld
2. Game & Watch "Panorama" screen
3. Table top unit.

$125 would seem a bit high (as far as I'm concerned) for just the consoles. I've bought those consoles in the past for less than $10 each, so I'm a bit jaded. And the games look fairly common, unfortunately. I don't know how much the Popeye is worth, though. That's going to be the deal closer. If it's the tabletop kind, then it would have been a decent price altogether.
I don't know what the popeye is worth but it's probably solid in value. The rest of the stuff shouldn't have been more than $25-20 a system, games included. Does the Atari 5200 have good 3rd party working controllers? Chances are it didn't making it pretty worthless as properly working ones will cost way more than the console's worth. I'd hate to break your bubble but I'd have passed, if you really love it then I guess it's worth it to you in the end but it was pretty pricy at a garage sale.
If they made a movie out of your top five worst sins, what would it be rated?
