    Default N64 Static Sounds

Ive had my N64 since it came out in 1996 and ive always taken very good care of my games. Ive noticed recently that some games with certain sounds have a glitched static sound to them everytime I play the game. And its not just one game, its alot of games and I have no idea why this is happening. The only hypothesis i have is the gameshark because my friends Goldeneye game makes the same glitched sounds only much worse, and thats a game that he hacked alot back in the day. Ive tried all my games in a different system and still the same result, glitched sounds in Rush 2's intro music,if I have enough explosions on the screen in Perfect Dark, glitched sounds..its yea,i would like to know the cause and maybe how to fix it somehow.

Have you also considered it might be the television speakers dying out?

Nope the TV speakers are fine, cause the same static sound is coming from the surround sound speakers,I think i found the problem thou, its the VCR i have it passing thru,it has a ground on it and i just hooked the N64 to another A/V cable thats not passing thru the VCR and theres no static at all,how odd huh. Thanks for the help!
