Colecovision: having troubles getting game to work

I'm having an unusual problem with my copy of Burgertime. Normally
all my CV troubles are from either dirt or the cartridge not being
inserted properly. My Burgertime loads normally and goes to the blue
select level screen. If I press any of the valid buttons 1-8 that game
just crashes and then returns to the usual COLECOVISION logo page
and back to the blue option screen.

I've only got one working CV joystick and it works with every other
game I own. I've tried it in port 2 and same results. I cleaned the
cart with rubbing alcohol to no effect. I just got the game a few weeks
ago so it has never worked while I've had it.

If it's just Burgertime, you need a new cart. I've got a Rocky that does the same thing, no matter how much I've cleaned it.

It's the dreaded BIT ROT!!!!!
