    Default Final Fantasy VIII variants?

I picked up a Greatest Hits copy of Final Fantasy VIII today, and when I got home, I compared it with my original black label copy to discover that the disc art is different. Are there any other variants than these two? I can't get the picture I took to post, but there's one on my most recent blog (the link to which is in my sig).

Greatest Hits PSOne games all have different disc artwork than the original prints.
At least, that's how most of them are.
    In Heaven, everything is fine.

I'm pretty sure the disc art on GH games is always different. On Tekken 3 the GH is just a black disc that says tekken 3, on the black label it's actually a rendered picture with some characters.

GH discs come in black and white or clear / black to keep costs down with the printing. Those are standard issue discs. Dukes of Hazzard and Test Drive were the only discs to keep their original disc artwork for the GH releases.

We need a psychic link to DB whenever a PSX question comes up. Something like Orpheus's warping to see The Master in Venture Bros.

I think Legend of the Dragoon kept the disc artwork as well, in black and white :<

Many of them kept their disc arts in B/W. They just removed the 'full color' to save on production costs.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

I think the GH discs are identified by GH at the end of the code generally for PS1 games, but I have seen a more silver and a more white disc versions of FF7, not sure which is the GH if either are.

Sony didn't start that GH tag until later in the life of the re-releases, and even then not everyone followed it. Hell, on some of the earliest GHs, the SCUS number isn't even on the manual!

Same applies to Platinum titles in PAL regions.

Technically speaking, there are a few variants... but they are minor.

Square ordered a large lot of Greatest Hits reprints in, I think, 2003
of FF8, FF9, Origins, etc.--basically all the GHs you can still get
    sealed for $20 or so.

This was after they merged with Enix.
