Default ?'s about PSP 1000 case replacement

I picked up a PSP pretty cheap. It seems to work well but the screen and outer case is pretty scratched and dinged up. I could get by with replacing just the front plate I guess but I saw those neat replacement outer casings on Ebay and such. I really liked some of the see thru ones. Anyways has any one done this? Is it very difficult and not overly complicated? Where is a good place to get the parts? It concerned me that a lot of these parts are shipped from Hong Kong and all. Thanks for any tips.

It's VERY easy to get replacement front cases for PSP.

Deal Extreme has plenty with free shipping (they do ship out of HK, but they're 100% reliable) ... just be sure to check the listing to see if a specific front plate is for the 1000 or 2000.

It's very easy to take the front plate off of a 1000 series and you should have no problems finding a tutorial online.

Just be cautious, the screws can strip if you're not careful ... when you get the old front plate off, I'd recommend using a scratch-free cloth and air duster to get all the crap and dust off the screen (if there is any) ... and when you put the replacement front plate on be sure you have all the screws tapped in tight or else you'll have issues with the buttons.

Overall it's a very simple task.
