Default I want your old video game magazines, newsletters, flyers, etc.

    WANT LIST UPDATED OCTOBER 18

Video game magazines are heavy, ugly, and take up a lot of space. They also affect your sex life and could possibly cause cancer. For these reasons and many more, you should give, trade and/or sell your old video game magazines to me!

Also, in all seriousness, I use these as a "reference library" of sorts for the strange and wonderful research I do, so you will be putting your old garbage to good use and bettering mankind.

    What I'm Looking For

My main focus right now is getting as much material from the 8 and 16-bit console eras as I can, so let's say...1987-1997, give or take. I'm also interested in material printed both before and after these years, and would certainly take them if you have them, but more than likely I will not buy them unless it's a deal I'd be stupid to pass up, especially if it's in one huge bulk.

You may notice a lack of computer game magazines in my Want List below. This does not necessarily mean I'm only interested in console mags, it just means that I'm primarily focused on them for the time being. I may be interested in your computer mags too.

    Countries of Origin

I am currently focusing on material printed in the United States, mainly because I can only read English and most of the good UK-published stuff is already scanned online. That said, one of my secret hopes is that there is a crazy person in the U.S. who has imported every issue of Edge and wants to get rid of them. If you are that crazy person, please let me know! I'd also be interested in non-English console mags, particularly from the 8-bit era.

Flyers, One-Sheets, Press Releases, Books, Mailers, Catalogs, Etc.

In addition to magazines, I'm looking for any other printed material related to video games. Did you fill out those information cards in the backs of magazines and ask for more material from its advertisers? Did you attend old CES or E3 shows and fill your bags with paper? Did you run an arcade, or work for a game studio that got business publications sent to it? Did you work for a newspaper or magazine and keep things that were sent to you? How about old mailorder catalogs? FuncoLand price sheets? Weird little 'zines? Let me know, I'm probably interested!

Shipping Magazines Is Expensive And Also Dumb

    Yes, I'm aware.

    How To Contact Me

Either reply here, send me a private message, or just email me directly at fcifaldi@gmail.com.

    Want List

Below is an incomplete list of magazines I am currently looking for. If it's not on here, that doesn't mean I don't want it! Even if I already have an issue, I may be interested in getting another copy either as an upgrade (many of mine are rough/missing pages/etc.) or as trade material.

    For Trade/Sale

I've got quite a few "doubles" that are available, if you are also into this sort of thing. I'm mainly looking to trade for other mags, and am not terribly interested in selling these just yet, at least until I see if there is any trade interest. That said, if you absolutely have to have something, let me know and we can work something out.

Yikes. I have a ton of Gamefans here. Sold off a bunch a while ago on eBeg, but I haven't had a chance to go through the boxes they're in to sort 'em out lately. OK, that's my project for this week (when I'm not updating the game blog). I'll get back to you in a few days, Red...

    g.

Oh - Drop me a PM in a few days go by and you don't hear a peep (Thursday or so). I'm kinda swamped with reviews, a few press meetings and other stuff this week (like the blasted walls needing repair in the game room/office before they fall on my pointy lil' head) , so I may be going for a partial list until I get time to really dig for stuff...

oh... got any interest in press materials, asset CDs and the like? As Jimmy Durante siad: "I got a million of 'em!"

or close to that after years of getting stuff in the mail or hitting press events in person.

I have 3 or 4 Game Player's mags, a ton of EGM, early NP (80's, early 90's), and 20 or so Game Pros mags in storage at the moment. If you're willing to pay for shipping, I'll give them to you.

Yep, I'm on their forums too. I'm glad it exists, and it has a ton of content, but it's probably never going to be 100% simply because scanning takes way too much time.

I definitely have all the EGM's on that list (and used to have all the Gamefans which are now history due to a typhoon ). But I'll probably never give them up. I am a member of retromags.com and have scanned a couple of magazines for them including the EGM Fabio issue and another one. I've been out of the picture for a while but if you specifically want something in particular, I could get back into scanning some again.. heck, why not.

Ah, thanks for your scans! It's funny that you specifically mentioned the scan of issue #3, I was just reading your scan in bed last night with a comic book reader on my iPhone. It turned out great.

I hate to ask you to scan something since it's such a pain in the ass, but between what I have, what is already scanned, and a few issues a friend offered to send me, the only early EGM I'm missing in any shape or form is #11. If you're really offering to scan something, I could definitely use that one. Lord knows I don't plan on buying a copy for $25 on eBay:

I wouldn't normally ask, but you offered, and I don't know if or when I'll manage to stumble across a cheaper copy myself. Thanks in advance, this is very cool of you to offer.

Are you interested in Famicom Handbills/Flyers? (I know you said US only, but most of the games got US release as well)

They were given out in Japanese game stores 25+ years ago to promote the sale of said game. They are international paper A4 in size and can range from $8-$300 in cost.

I got a bunch of extras from all different price ranges.

    PM me if interested.

    Thanks

I have some issues of Gamepro I'd be willing to part with.

April, August, November, & December 1993

As far as I could tell, there are no loose pages and only the "included poster" is missing from each issue.

Possibility is infinity! You must be satisfied!

You may well be my hero! I've got a bunch of older NPs (mid 1990s?) and a few other misc magazines as well as tons of newer EGMs/Game Informers/ GMR/etc. etc. that could use a new home instead of going for recycling. I'm on a bit of a cleaning binge anyway, so give me a chance to round 'em up and I'll PM you with what I have.

Famicom handbills are certainly awesome, but honestly I'm not willing to spend more than a buck or two on a flyer unless it's for an unreleased game. Thanks for the offer though.

I am indeed missing December. Shipping just one issue is kind of a pain though, which is why I usually try to buy bigger lots. I don't know if I could justify more than $3 shipped for that issue, if that's worth it for you then we have a deal!

I got your PM, thanks! It might take me a bit to sort through the list and figure it out.
