Default Does Burn Cycle (Philips CD-I) require the FMV add-on cart?

I recently got a Philips CD-I unit. It's actually a Goldstar CDI-1000, which I think is a rebranded Philips CD-I 450. Anyways, I didn't get any games with the thing, and it didn't come with the FMV add on cartridge thing. I'm not sure which games require the add-on, and which don't. I've always heard that Burn Cycle was one of the very few redeeming games on CD-I, so I thought about trying to track one of those down.

Burn Cycle's packaging suggests it works on all CD-i players. There's no digital video cartridge mention either. Now you've got me wondering which (if any) of my games require the cartridge.

Personally I know that it didn't require the cartridge. I used it as a demo on our sales display when I worked at Sears but to back up my claim, click here:

Aren't there games that require the cartridge and others that just get enhanced by it?

I honestly don't know of any games that require it (I'm no expert, I just attempted to sell the things years ago) but like any expansion module, the games typically need to be coded to be able to use the module if it's available. When we had our demo unit, games ran the same with or without the cartridge.

burn cycle does not need the mpeg card, and it is not enhanced with it. some games do need the mpeg card mostly full motion video games.
other can use it but dont need it, only a few.
I know if you dont have it in one game(forgot the title) you will not have music.
