    Default NES blues

Okay, I took my NES apart, cleaned it out, changed the connector, hell I even painted the case black so it's purty. It still blinks like you poked it in the eye with a sharp stick. My games are all clean (I cleaned them all). The connection is so bad that if you tap the console while a game is in it starts blinking. What can I try next?

Where did you get your 72pin connector? did you bend the pins back yourself? Sometimes selllers will take an old 72 pin connecter and bend the pins out and sell it as new.

I bought it off ebay... I wonder if it really is an old one, that had occurred to me. The screw holes did have a bit of extra plastic in them, though, that I had to clear out, which could imply newness.

Does anyone have a reputable source for high quality, sure to be good connectors?

I've got one, if you're willing to wait a few days we can trade or something. Otherwise you can buy them from mcm electronics (http://www.mcmelectronics.com/) for like 6 bucks.

Are they a known good source? I'd hate to end up with another "bent back" connector.

MCM manufactures them, so yes. I've bought over a dozen from them, they are all sealed and new.
