A few extra days isn't a problem for me.

I'm glad to see this, but damn... Looks like I'm going to have to expedite the annual sale this year, since I'll be aiming to nab both in one go. Maybe some USB sets too while I'm at it.

I've had good luck with them in the past - I bought my powerpak and some repros off them last year, and am waiting for my SNES one.

I got an email saying they're delaying my shipment a few days to check on compatibility and offering a refund if I didn't want to wait. I have zero worries about these guys not coming through.

I've been considering a Tototek flash cart, but this looks tons better. So tempting...

The largest capacity they have is 64 MB, whereas Retrozone can have 1 GB CF and more.

Yeah I've got a 4GB CF card in my NES version and it works fine. Actually, maybe it's an 8GB card. I got it on sale and can't remember. I ordered a 1 GB CF card with the SNES version. I'm gonna trade and stick the big CF card in the SNES version and the small one in the NES version. Is 1 GB big enough for a full SNES romset if someone wanted to go that way?

There really should be much necessity for choice, the retrozone stuff is simply fantastic.

I had some problems getting my 2gig to work with my nes one awile back, was never sure if it was just the brand or the size, what brand are you using with yours? (i just noticed at target we're selling cf cards again but 4 and 8 gig respectively)

If you want every single US game, it is 1.1 GB. If you pare it down (ie, get rid of revision copies, bad games, etc), 1 GB is likely lots for most people.

There's a detailed article in Nintendo Age's latest e-zine. You need to join to read it free.

I've confirmed that my issues with the SNES PowerPak were with the compact flash cart I was sent along with the PowerPak, but not the PowerPak itself. I just spent about 15 minutes playing Mario Kart on the PowerPak, works great - exactly as the NES version does for those familiar with that product.

Awesome, glad to hear you got it working. I broke down and ordered myself one too. I can't wait!

does it have the same "save file" system as the nes one? ie pressing reset for a few seconds then choosing a file, or is it a bit more easy to use (and less easy to mess up ;-) )

Ha, I was looking through some things, and I actually found a multicart (used in this hotel system called the Super Famicom Box) which had Super Mario Collection, Super Mario Kart and StarFox on it:

Still not saying it is feasible for a flash cart (note that the cart for the Super Famicom Box is Neo Geo esce). But it is interesting, nonetheless.

Looks like sales of the SNES Powerpak have been put on a temporary hold:

"Orders are currently being held a few days to investigate system compatibility. This does not affect the games list. If this is a problem send an email!"

Hopefully this gets resolved soon as I'm really excited to get my hands on one of these.

I tested mine on 3 systems:

    SNES v1 (CPU v2, PPU1 v1, PPU2 v3): Word Great!
SNES v2 (CPU v2, PPU1 v1, PPU2 v3): Boots, Claims SDRAM Error, DSP1 Not Installed (but it is)
    SFC v1 (CPU v1, PPU1 v1, PPU1 v1): Black Screen

I remembered to check my NES powerpak today. I'm using a 4 GB Sandisk Ultra II. It works great.
