Very soon I will either be picking up an adapter for my TG-16 to play imports or a Core Grafx. I have no idea what PC Engine games are good. What are considered the best of the best?
Thanks!!

VERY tough question. There are literally hundreds of great games for the system! I can tell you of the ones I have:
Outrun (Great port, just like the arcade)
Afterburner II (another great one, fast and furious!)
Thunderblade (not that great, kind of choppy)
Columns (it's Columns...if you like it you'll like this)
Street Fighter II CE (AWESOME!)
Parodius (Gradius type shooter from Konami..excellent!)
Ninja Gaiden (Just like the NES version)
Volfied (Qix with powerups, leaders..etc. I love it!)
Altered Beast (It is just TOO hard)
Youkai Dockuki aka: Shadow Land (pretty cool platformer by Namco)
That is pretty much the few I have, but I am probably forgetting one or two as well. I am not even touching the surface of the good games for the system, but basically pick up a few here and there when they're not too expensive. Try the MagicEngine emulator and try the games first. That is the best way to test them before you buy them.
Ohh, and if you don't care about the originality of the system, you can grab this instead:

It has been modded to switch between PCE/TG16 games. It is better than a converter IMHO. If you do end up going with the converter route, be forewarned that some of the converters will cause freezing and other problems with some games. The one TZD sells is a good one, except for the fact that it will NOT work with the Arcade Card, so if you ever decide to get a CD unit and want to play arcade card games, you'll be SOL there. The Kisado is the best adapter out there, but is hard to find and gets expensive. I opted for a Core Grafx unit myself, because I am assured EVERYTHING will work the way it should, and beside that I like the look of this little system. Hope that helps you a little.
Holy crap that's a sweet mod. I thought it was particularly hard to get region conversions done on the TG-16 hardware though. I'd like to see how he did those RCA jacks internally like that.
I have seen quite a few modded TG's on ebay lately, as well as alot of modification talk on the Turbo List. Some folks have it down to an art now. I saw another TG16 that had a 5-pin DIN mod (looked like the core grafx a/v plug) somewhere on ebay yesterday, but this one looks much sweeter IMHO. I would imagine he wired the RCA's directly to the back pinouts that would lead a Turbobooster directly to video/audio l+r. As for the region switch, I wouldn't know...but I'd love to look at the insides of this unit!Originally Posted by Bratwurst
