I cant find a sega cd for under $80, go for it!
well the person wants 50 even now.... which is 5 dollars more which isnt that much, but what about the atari 400?

I've found SCD's to have a high failure rate.
That's my biggest concern

Did he tell you he tested it and it works? People suck and all, but few will actually outright lie about a system working.
Any idea how many or what 400 games?
Probably worth 50 as a fair price (higher than I'd pay). Definitely not worth a DS Lite.
possibly 10 to 15 from what i read on the ad but i'm not sure

I would get the sega cd. As long as it works that's a decent price for one. At least from what I remember, it's been a long time since I've been actively into all this stuff so I have no idea what the going rate is now. Just make sure to ask if it works.
The atari 400 I'd probably pass on, unless it has some really good games included. I highly recommend the atari 800xl for old school computer gaming. Awesome machine, I still use it to this day.
If you couldn't come up with 40.00 a few days ago how are you going to come up with 50.00 now?
