Default how much should i ask for my broken Genesis and Broken sega cd combo?

the both systems are broken but they probably could easily be fixed by someone who knows how to.

Sega CDs are easily broken, and can be found broken easily. Unless you have someone looking for a broken one to scrap parts, you'll be stuck with it most likely.

Broken Geneseses (that is a real word) are worthless, as the console working doesn't go for more that $20 in the first place most of the time. You're better off trashing it.

well only the fuse is broken on the sega cd, and the controller ports are broken on the genesis. both of which can be fixed easily by people who know how the controller ports dont register up and down on controllers.... i think it can be fixed by resoldering them to the board........ basically i have broken consoles i need to get rid of that can be fixed by people who know how too, and i want to make some money, also shipping them wouldnt be cheap so i cant give them away for free, im basically interested in selling the sega cd im throwing the broken genesis in as an add-on.

I usually see them for $5 or $6 in Value Village all the time, complete with PS and controls. Stores usually have 2 or 3 at a time. I remember NES being like that for a while in thrifts but their prices have gone up. I assume as Genny's become scarcer the prices will rise again but they're plentiful and cheap around here right now.

From what I've seen, Genesis stuff is much less valuable than NES and SNES stuff, due to it's popularity and that almost all of the games had high print runs. There aren't really any games that are hard to find on the Genesis. Except for Outback Joey, Action 52 and Miracle Piano, but those aren't really in demand.

Sega CD and 32x however can get pricey.

Are you thinking about putting it on eBay? I would just put them both out there with reasonable shipping and a .99 starting bid. The people who can fix, will buy and fix, others will pass them by.

The value of those items is roughly zero. Either offer them for the cost of shipping on a collector's board or just give them to a local charity and you can probably get a $20 tax credit for the donation. Other than that, there is no way you are ever going to profit from those two broken items.

I agree with "offer them for cost of shipping" however DO NOT give them to a local charity! Think about it, even with your best intentions, even if you tell them when you drop them off that they do not work, the charity is going to lose that information and sell them with the standard disclaimer "un-tested no refunds". That means that some collector is going to go in there an buy them. With no TV to hook them up to and no games to test things out with, they will probably blindly buy them hoping they work only to find that they have spent X amount on your (un-intentional) junk.

    Do not donate them!

For what its worth, I've sold 4+ broken Genesis systems (console only) for about $15 each. Not sure what people are doing with them, but they always seem to sell....

    Surprisingly it was Amazon.com.

Either I'm just massively lucky or there's some other use for Genesis systems that I haven't figured out yet....
