Default Wisdom Tree, Are You Serious?

Remember all those wonderful bible games that the Angry Video Game Nerd reviewed for the NES,guess what, you can buy them for your computer! Even better, there is a Java based website that lets you play them without having to buy them....oh goodie...(sarcasm)

    http://www.wisdomtreegames.com/arcade.html

Thought I share the pain,it is almost Christmas anyway, seriously how are they still in business?!!

    Exclamation

Two more posts and this thread will be officially satan-approved.

Anyway, what's wrong with free Java versions of the games? The cover art for the first three games in their list and Exodus is pretty epic, never seen it before.

They're the NES versions running on the Java NES emulator. :P

I just spent about 20 minutes playing Spiritual Warfare. It's a surprisingly competent Zelda clone.

I spent ten playing Sunday Funday. I couldn't figure out how to beat that large woman in stage three.

It's... much better than I remembered.

They put out "Jesus In Space" recently. It's even certified Vista compatible!

So, wait... you can buy these in a store somewhere? Where at, and what's the title of the game or game pack? I'd love to get hold of these! All it says on their website is that you can use PayPal to buy some games, but it doesn't say if they come shipped to you or if they're downloads-only.

Look in one of those Christian bookstores they have in the mall. That's where they originally sold the NES games and the more recent PC versions as well.

"Jesus in Space". I'd buy that just for the title. I mean, c'mon, it's Jesus... IN MUTHAFUCKIN' SPACE!!! There's no ways that's not good!!

That, and the site won't let me play Bible Adventures. Could they now somehow that I'm definitely not suited for that?

    EDIT:

Well, I didn't luck out. I tried the Moses episode of Bible Adventures last night.
Though it would be fair to say it wasn't horribly broken and not being able to smash things was interesting. I quit when I lost the baby a second time though.

I remember years ago in IRC or something, someone told me they were working on a comprehensive editor for Spiritual Warfare. Does anyone know if that came out? The Google does nothing.

Maybe I'm just incompetent, but I can't get any of these to play.

Hidden on their terrible website (I like how the frame of the tv doesn't match up with the Java window if your resolution is different from what they assumed it would be) are some button instructions. First click on the Java window if the games aren't showing up (it says to do it twice), then you can use Z and X for the face buttons, and Enter and something else for Start and Select.

I see the button instructions and the image of the TV/monitor where it says "DOUBLE CLICK ON THE SCREEN TO PLAY!", but I can double click all over the place and it does absolutely nothing.

A lot of the Wisdom Tree games are playable on vNES (www.virtualnes.com). I know Bible Adventures is on there, as are Bible Buffet and Spiritual Warfare. I'm sure there are others as well.

If the game's started (i.e. you get sound and video) then use the arrow keys, z, and x. Otherwise, you ought to be getting a blank white square and a "please install Java" prompt, or something. Make sure you've got Java (the real flavor, not that knockoff Microsoft brew) installed if you're seeing nothing - getjava.com or something like that.

My parents live in a small town and whenever I go visit I end up walking around this Christian bookstore there with my mom. About two or three years ago they were selling a few of those Bible games brand new for the NES for around $40 each. I thought it was pretty silly... it must have been back stock, that store has been around for a very long time.

When I was a kid my parents were friends with our pastor and when we would go to their house I remember the pastors son was only allowed to play the Bible games. He had all of them for his NES and nothing else. I thought we had it bad because we were only allowed to play Mario, Disney or Marvel titles (my dad was a big fan of comics).

I'm not getting either. I told you I was incompetent or something. :P I'm getting the black monitor screen, but I can click all over the place and nada. Oh well, no big loss, haha.

I wonder if he would have thought the same thing if he knew the origins of the games. I don't want to be one to judge but the company hardly seems "Christian" to me...at least back then anyways.

That whole situations does remind me of Billy Graham's Bible Blasters though.
