Default no battlestations midway/pacific on ps3? wtf!

Why no battlestation midway/pacific on ps3?!? that totally sucks!!! >.< I sold my 360 a while back for a ps3 slim and now i find out i can't get battlestations... sigh..

i remember having a total ball with midway on 360. torpedo runs were so much fun!! i now find myself in the mood for a good ww2 pacific theater simulation and there is nothing on ps3....

is there any good ww2 pacific sims on ps3 that maybe i haven't heard of?

Long and weird name, but there's one called IL Strumovik: Birds of Prey

yeah i have 1943 and it's 4 small maps. it's ok. but i want to do bomb ships. i guess 1943 will feed my pacific theater hunger for now. if you call that a game. more like a long demo if you ask me

    It's IL-2 Sturmovik.

The game is developed in Russia, and is set on the Eastern front during WWII. The IL-2 was a Soviet ground attack aircraft that played a crucial role in securing Soviet victory against Germany, and to this day remains a legendary aircraft in Russia and around the world. The Ilyushin IL-2 is also the most produced military aircraft in history, with over 36,000 aircraft produced (Over 40,000 if you include the postwar variant designated the IL-10).

So not a strange name at all, especially considering it's coming out of Russia. The aircraft is familiar to anyone knowledgeable about WWII, and has become well known to PC flight sim fans since 2001 as the namesake of a great PC based series (Which this is an attempt to capitalize on in the console world from a different developer working under license from Ubisoft and the PC development house).

I'd recommend it, especially on the PS3 platform where it's just seen some nice improvements thanks to a patch that hasn't yet been developed for the 360 release. It also added in support for PC flight sticks, something that won't ever happen with the 360 release.

Whoops! Forgot the 2. It's just a weird name for many and its title as it is could just alienate some due to its 'foreign' sound. That would also mean that its not a Pacific campaign related game (yeah for me not reading everything and retaining it in my response to the OP). A few other PS3 WW2 flyers include (not all with Pacific campaigns)

    Heroes Over Europe
    Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WW2
Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WW2

There is also Heroes Over the Pacific which has a PS2/XBox release. If you've got an early PS3, then you've got (most likely) BC that will work with the PS3.
