Non-sports commons sell OK. You will see lots of people looking over checklists to see if they need something. Movie license games sell well, no matter how common or bad the game is. I remember selling a copy of Back to the Future (NES) to a guy who said "I remember this game! It's horrible!" And then he bought it.

    I wouldn't price my commons above $2.

I have a great idea for vendors to get rid of commons (I have tons). How about a grab bag? We have a few rare or valuable games in a big grab bag filled with commons. We charge $3-4. per grab. The grabber keeps whatever game they pull out. If we have some good prizes, you can have a "proxy" in the bag for the prize. There's tons of ways to spin it. You end up giving out some great stuff, while gaining a little compensation for your commons.

    Just an idea...

I notice that this year's event has a lot of system link multiplayer. I am going to be acquiring an official Dreamcast vs link cable (system link cable) and I don't really own another dreamcast to test the cable out with. So, would it hurt to bring the cable to the show and test it with two of copies of "Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram" (a.k.a VOOT)? If I manage to find an alternative solution, I will edit this post. I would also like to know if it could be possible to discuss the probability of using the cable, if it works, to link 2 Dreamcasts for competitive play next year as there are 6 games that work with the cable.

Edit: I have tested the system link cable by buying another Dreamcast plus another copy of VOOT. The cable works fine.

Space is always an issue. I would love to have a system linked Dreamcast out for people to play. You are always most welcome to bring those items, but remember that free console area is set for anyone to play. If consoles are out in the free console play area, we are not liable for anything that happens for them, and they cannot be exclusive for only select people to play on. You are always most welcome to seach for your items that you need at our show. We have several ongoing discussions throughout the year on what to have available for the public to play on. Several tough decisions are made onto what gets cut and what gets put out for the public to play. If you dont already know, I am a huge Sega collector and avid Sega fan. I wish i had an easier answer for you, other than I would love to have it at our show, if I knew we had the space and the other conditions met.

I know. That's why I am shooting more for next year or later. If not, on any event, I am completely OK with that call. I would rather spend a couple of minutes testing the cable, disconnect the system link cable, and then let others use the Dreamcasts while I shop around. I will have more money this year so I really hope that I get something interesting this time.

This year I am bringing some rare boxed items to the show including a boxed Coleco Adam Computer, Odyssey 1, Odyssey 2, TI 99, and other games and what not. I am going to bring the most random games and what not for this show.

I'll have to check it out then. I am kinda interested in systems/games that were not usually known in the market.

I also will be hopefully done with my third DVD collectors video, The Nuts and Bolts to Videogame Collecting Vol. 3 Sega Systems. I will be making only 30 Limited Edition copies of it, and it will debut at our show. Unlimited editions of Vol. 1 and Vol 2 will also be on hand for sale. Vol 1. Covers Obscure consoles of the 70s to mid 80s. Vol 2 covers Nintendo Home Systems. For any fan of Sega, it will be an awesome collectors DVD. It should run at least 80 min and be filmed in HD video. I have had alot of fun making these DVDs and have had some very positive feedback from those who have bought them.

I look forward to watching vol. 3 as I too am an avid Sega fan. Vol. 1 and 2 still sound interesting though.

I'm thinking about trying to dump some of my system boxes. I don't want them but I can't just throw them away either. XD And no way am I going to mail them. I just wish the expo was sooner cuz I really want them out of my house already! (Just moved, so now they're bothering me b/c I had to take them w/ me.)

I look forward to the event this year as well. Last year was awesome as I never knew that we had so many retro gamers in this state.

How perfect that this thread was bumped- this is what I was just coming to check on.

I'm thinking about making a list of odd stuff I need; just can't remember what that stuff was just now. Doh!

What boxes do you have? Do they have styrofoam or the cardboard trays? I'm bringing a bunch of loose systems, so if I can match them up with boxes that would be great.

I have the following boxes in very good condition:

    Wii
    Xbox 360
    Mega CD 2
Black DS Lite (have to check & make sure this is vg, I think it is)

I have the following in good to fair condition:

    NEC Interface Unit
    PS2 Singstar Edition (ceramic white)

    And free with purchase:

    NEC PC-FX

I'm asking $5 apiece. Some have the insert and some don't, so if you're interested in anything, ask and I'll check.
