    Question A RR'd 360 & Question Marks Over My Head (Help)

    I have a RR'd 360 that I was going to refurbish for my cousin. I found someone on Craigslist who is willing to repair it for $50. They sounded legit and before I do anything, I am going to check the place out (it's a pc place I believe). However, they only have a 15 day money back guarantee, plus I'm debating whether or not I'm going to keep it or not (prob not).

    In any case, this thing has been on the fritz twice already, so here are the questions: do I go for #3 being the charm;
    A: fix it & sell it
    B: fix & trade it
    C: fix & keep it or
    D: not fix at all & try to trade/sell it?

    Sidenote: I don't have as much time to play as I used to, I've got a bunch of unplayed games on other systems & I'm not much on playing online ala XBL or so forth.
    Oh no! The truck have started to move!!

    Well first thing is to find out how they fix it,if there using the x-clamp fix it will rrod again,or maybe there going to use a heatgun which is just a temp fix as well,if they do a professional reball and reflow than thats the best fix you can get and thats worth 50 bucks but I doubt they have that equipment.

    $50 for x-clamp removal probably, a kit that'll cost you $10 to buy yourself. Fix it yourself and save yourself some green my 360's been working fine for that last couple months after i did the fix.

    I don't know where you are buying kits for 10 bucks but ebay has them all over the place from .50cents to 1.75. good luck its a good permanent fix if done rite!

    If you pick choice D, don't sell it on Amazon, as you WILL get hosed.

    x-clamp is not permanent. Mine was done professionally by a guy who does them for a living and my elite 360 RRoD'd months later.

    I was referring to having to dole out refunds to fuckwits who can't read and think the system is still functional.

    Fixing them in pretty much any of these methods leads to the eventual re-failure of them. The chips get hot, they eventually unseat themselves again. End of story. If MS with redesigns haven't been able to fully quell the tide (but in many cases, have reduced them) why do you think some random schmuck on Craig's List is going to be able to do what MS can't? IMO i'd just attempt to sell it as a ded unit and go get one that is new and fully functioning. Warranties and newer boards/chipsets HAVE helped with the RRoD problems are a much greater draw for me than a potential/eventual re-ded 'fixed' unit.
    Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

    Okay, so based on this info, what would be a decent going price for a dead 360, all connections/power supply & black controller?
