Default Guardian Heroes CIB and Gunstar Heroes CIB @ ShopGoodwill.com

Just last year I discovered that the Goodwill sells some of its select items online from its own auction site, [ http://www.shopgoodwill.com/ ]. Right now I sadly don't have any money for buying awesome classic games that go for a pretty penny, but if I did I would totally go after these two auctions.

The first is Guardian Heroes (complete) - at the time of this posting it is only up to an $11 bid!
    http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=5675579

The second is a set of a Genesis, controllers, hookups, Sonic Spinball (loose), Gunstar Heroes (complete), and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (complete). Currently at $10.

Let me know if any of you win these, especially if you get a good bargain!

This site seems to have some crazy bid warring, which I why I always stayed away from it. They almost always have some kind of insane auction. A few months ago they had an atari auction with a ton of very rare 2600 carts...I remember one for sure, which was Mr. Do's Castle. It was going for a lot quite quickly.

shopgoodwill always seems to be just as expensive as Ebay but without the service you would get from an experienced seller. Sometimes vague or poorly listed/worded auctions, and a couple of times they sent me some broken crap that they refused to accept a return on.

You're not likely going to get a bargain, there's too many collectors and/or Ebay resellers that look for deals there already.

I've gotten good deals on shopgoodwill before - just wait until the last 5 minutes to see where the auction goes, just like eBay. My only issue is their shipping charges on items - I had to pay $11 shipping on a great Sega CD auction that included Keio.

EDIT: Hinge arms are broken on Guardian Heroes for anyone interested.

Thanks for the links. I've tried winning auctions on shopgoodwill before but no luck, and I've seen some go for crazy prices, especially when you consider the shipping cost. I want to just email every single auction and tell them they can ship that crap with flat rate priority for half that amount, but whatever. I won't even get into the whole "this is why there's never anything good for sale at Goodwill." XD

Yeah, I hear you on that one...it seems like they've been taking all of pricy stuff (including video games) here in Orlando and putting them up on the auction site.

The shipping prices are absolutely outrageous on Shopgoodwill. $11 to ship Guardian Heroes? Give me a break.

They ship them in oversized boxes. It seems like they only have 1 size box to ship stuff in

I gotta say, I love to browse this site, some of the auctions they throw up are just awesome.

Here's two neat auctions that caught my eye:

    http://shopgoodwill.com/auctions/Att...P-5664760.html
    http://shopgoodwill.com/auctions/Vin...--5678171.html

First one is a very nice factory sealed attack of the killer tomatoes for NES.

Second one is an atari lot with ironically, Mr. Do's Castle, which I mentioned seeing in an auction a while back. Maybe it's the same one and the buyer didn't pay? Hmm.

Awhile ago they had literally dozens of auctions for sealed Adventure Island. I really had to wonder where they got all of them.

I always go there to look at the auctions. I've never bid due to the usually outrageous s&h. IIRC they charge like 5% handling of whatever the winning bid is on top of their estimated shipping charge.

I tried to register there but they never sent me the activation email.

Keep trying. It took me like three or four times before it showed up in my inbox. It's worth it.

Ahh, Shopgoodwill. I've gotten some great deals on there in the past, but it's caught the attention of a lot of collectors so prices have surged up and pretty much match eBay, as others have said.

Also, the bidding system isn't as refined as eBay in that you alone can raise the final price meaning that you really have to put all of your eggs in during zero hour.
