Default Classic Gaming Expo 2010 - Auction

Is the auction going to return for CGE MMX?

If it does return we may want to contact the local Corona Distributor for a couple of reasons:
    • Auction Item Demo Girl - We get a beautiful presenter. Corona get some good charity PR.
    • Final Auction Corona beer and Corona items to include in the lot.
    • A Corona bucket for the beer.
Plus any way to offset John's Corona bar tab is a good thing!!

We're definitely going to need to think about the auction presenter earlier than we did last time. It turned out great, but we consumed valuable time on something we could easily have done in advance.

If we want the same person again we'll have to let her know. She's also Facebook.

If we don't how do you want to put out the call? Same way?? Something else?

I'll put out a feeler or two.

BTW, What is the total amount we have collected over the years for our charities. I know it's many thousands. But how many??

Is there any way that a preview time can be held prior to the auction so that people can actually see what is available and what the condition of everything is? Every year I always find myself not bidding because the only preview I get of the items is the few seconds of looking at them as they come up and are paraded around the auction room. Even if it was only fifteen minutes immediately before the auction where a secure table was set up with every lot tagged and placed on it, that would really be amazing.

This to a degree has been done both years that I've attended. CGE 04 and 07 had stuff viewable before the bidding. If memory serves 04's stuff was a little hard to see, due to the number of people over there at the time, but it was out before hand. I saw stuff at 07 sitting out on a table, and was how I was able to view the StarCon proto before I ended up buying it.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.
