Just what the title says.
Actually, everything does work, except for the directional controllers. As far as I can tell, this is true of all the control ports.
It is NOT the controllers, not is it the port itself. The problem is beyond that.
There is some chaotic movement horizontally, including if you gently brush your finger tip over PINs 9, 10, and 11. As far as vertical movement goes, almost zip. This is true (mostly) of all the ports. Since it is a problem common to all, it must be a common factor.
As far as I can tell from the schematics for a 5200, the problem is likely somewhere in the transistor cluster at the lower right of the circuit board, or, more likely, the POKEY chip. there are other possiblities, but, those seem the most likely. If it is the POKEY chip, and one can buy a new one, at least it is a..."snap" to replace it (a most excellent feature).
Can anyone direct me to a schematic for the POKEY chip itself, so I can test it? I do like this 5200, and would like to get it running again. Or if someone can give me a few tips, even better!
Thanks.
I'll run a few more tests tonight, but for now, this is what I have.
