Default Game Mage - Super Nintendo Game Genie clone

I just picked this up off one of the forum members with a few other SNES games, I figured I'd share the information I had with some pics since I can't really find much online.

I haven't tried it yet... any guesses what the small port on the back is for? Reading the article it mentions a ram cart addon... maybe that's it. I'm going to try it with some PAL games and various combinations of systems to see if it can do some magic.

Here's the link (Vectorman is the greatest link finder ever) found with the device info:

    http://www.gamersgraveyard.com/repos.../gamemage.html

    And here are the pics!

If I had to guess, they probably were going to sell carts with preloaded codes on it.

Very interesting, I will have to have a play with it when I come over sometime.
<Evan_G> i keep my games in an inaccessable crate where i can't play them

That's a pretty awesome looking thing. Did you get the code book?

    No code book. Extra useful!

It looks like it could be used to play US carts on a Super Famicom at least...

Nice! I completely forgot about this item. I used to see ads for it in EGM and such.

Now if only I could find one of those "video juke box" things.

Awesome find! Any chance of pictures of the on screen stuff?

Also, just a random thought. Could the back port be for the Sufami Turbo games? Or something similar?

From a little research, apparently the cart in the back is a backup cart to save codes onto, so you wouldn't have to reenter them every time you turn the thing on.

The above pictures are the USA version. Yes, the rear slot is for a RAM cart known as the Memory Mouse (IIRC), but is vaporware to my knowledge. The back plastic was redesigned for the PAL version, which functions as a second cart slot to be used for PAL/NTSC conversion, just like Pro Action Replay and others. That allowed it to have slightly more success in Europe, but it's still an incredibly obscure device.

The code book isn't necessary, it's just a duplicate of the built-in code database. If Auto Mode lights up on the title screen, it has codes for that game. Game Genie format works as well
