Has anyone toyed with the idea of putting a battery inside a Nomad? I got rid of mine about a year ago because of dead pixels in the screen and terrible battery life. I never opened it up to see how much spare room, if any, there was. Your thoughts?

The funy thing is that I was just thinking the same thing earlier today. There's not a whole lot of room to mess around with inside there though. Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries may work since they can be formed into alomst any shape. Like maybe a celphone battery since they're so thin. I haven't looked into any of the power requirements or any of that though. It was just a passing thought I had.

Not enough room even with the smallest viable Li-Po's. you want at least 2200mAh batteries and they're just to big to fit in there.

I would't jump to the conclusion that it's impossible. My celphone battey is 1100mAH and it's nothing special but still pretty thin. It'd be even smaller without the plastic housing. Not quite there and not enough voltage anyways, but still. What's the diminsions and ratings of an i-phone battery?
Do the screen replacent mod and you could lower the power requirements. Does that give you anymore wiggle room by any chance?

Yea with the screen mod you will have a bit less amp draw. A 1100mAh battery would last around 4 hours tops with the screen mod. With stock screen only about 2 1/2 hours.
With a small 1100mAh battery it "might" fit after the screen mod in the front under the buttons. But you would still need to wire it to the battery connectors in the back of the unit and cut in a charge jack for it.
It's most likely a better idea just to rig a battery to the things back. Cutting it apart and trying to fit a battery in sounds like a fool's errand.
