Stopped in a local thrift shop today. Found a disc-only copy of Sega Smashpack Volume 1 for the Dreamcast for $.25.

    My finds always suck...
I collect for: Odyssey2, Atari 2600, Atari 5200, ColecoVision, NES, SNES, N64, SMS, Genesis, Dreamcast, PSX, and TI-99/4A

A few years ago, there was a Wal-Mart by me that was closing because they moved the store down the street to a new location and they were selling their games at 75% off. My cousins and I went in and cleaned up, we literally had a cart full of games and our sales per person were like $300-400 each. I think I walked away with 40 or 50 titles from that sale.

What's weird is they re-opened that Wal-Mart a little while later, putting two locations within 3 miles of each other. I don't know if they were clearing out overstock or what but right before the holidays, they had a TON of titles for $10 each. Fire Emblem had JUST come out on DS that week and it was in that bin at that price.

Of course I haven't seen any killer sales like that from any of the Wal-Marts around here since. There are three that are relatively close to where I live and all three have a dump bin set up on an end rack near the games section. It's mostly $20 titles that they took out of the glass cases to make room for newer releases though.

    Scooped a couple things today.

Quake 2 (W9x), Soldier of Fortune 2 (W9x), Lightening Force: Quest for Darkstar (Genesis, cart only), black official GameCube controller, Age of Empires (W9x), Encarta 96 (woohoo!), Space Jockey (2600), and some others for a couple dollars today. Not a bad haul since I was looking for a copy of Q2.
    Whaddya mean invalid parameters?!

This thing probably isn't worth all that much, although I'd definately like it to be.

Ummmmmmmm guys...I have no idea what they are haha. I was thinking they were just standard games in some wacky device you Atari/Coleco/Intellivision people use

Like I said, I don't collect for those systems (though I collect everything else), so any input/advice/information would be wonderful.

I didn't think they were anything special...but maybe you guys know better?

It's very possible that it is a bootleg cart. Back in the day some that were tech savvy would build cartridges like that, and then just swap a copied IC to play different games.

    Today's finds:

Total was $20. I already own all of these, but the copies are much better than the ones I own so they'll be replacing them and my extras will be put on sale. The guy at the booth said that there were lots more games, but he didn't know where they were, which makes me think two things:

One, the box got lost somewhere
Two, the guy that works for him nabbed most of the good stuff before I arrived.

The two memory cards I found had save files for Suikoden II, Silent Hill, FF Tactics, Metal Gear Solid, and a few other big-name RPGs. I'm going back there tomorrow to see if anything else popped up.

Also of note: Found two Saturn games, but they were soaked for some reason. They were Scud and Johnny Bazookatone. Also, I missed out on a box filled with Sega CD games by a few minutes.

Congrats on that haul, some really nice games and tons of interesting items.

Yesterday I picked up a bunch of music CDs and two games,
    Die Hard Trilogy 2
    Resident Evil 3 Nemesis

$4 each at a thrift store, been wanting the RE3 for years now and finally bought it. Ahh memories of hanging at friends houses late evenings in high school playing newly released rentals. Wanted the Die Hard game for the shooting, could use more light gun games.

So yeah, it was a good day. Today was so good I'm not even sure I want to bother going back out tomorrow morning; I might just sleep in! My favorite finds from the bunch: DJ Boy, SNES Zelda (that sticker is on the shrinkwrap, which is completely intact except for the right-hand edge), NGPC KOFR2, and Iron Soldier for Jaguar. The NES lot was great, but a ton of these games are duplicates -- from my own collection, that is. I'm not sure why the guy had so many duplicates in the pile; I didn't ask. When I asked him the price he said he do $3 for each game, or $50 for the whole box. I tried to get him down to $40, but he wouldn't do it. We finally settled on $45, which was still a killer price, considering the NES came with a total of 68 games, 1 Game Boy game and that weird XaviX thing. I'm gonna have to look that up.

If anyone sees anything they like, I wear a medium, and I like Turbo Grafx stuff.

NES System with replaced 72-pin (guy even through in the old 72-pin; oddly enough)
    2 controllers
    NES Power Pad
    NES Light Gun (Orange)
Instructions for each of the things listed above

    Games:
    Super Mario Bros. 2 (boxed)
    Star Wars (Boxed)
    Dino Riki (Boxed)
    Tale Spin (Boxed)
    Bases Loaded 4 (Boxed)
    Tiny Toon Adventures 2 (Boxed)
    Super Mario Bros 3 (loose)
