That's how I made mine and it works fine. I did eventually find some security bits at a hardware store but I still had to dremel them to get them to work well. Otherwise I've never seen the right thing at a regular hardware store and I've looked everywhere. Online is your best bet.

Sometimes if you poke around at Harbor Freight you can find a set of security bits that will work. Otherwise buy a kit online.
