Default Need help with Sharp Twin Famicom (Error 22, head adjusting, spindle adjusting).

    Hi there,

So I recently installed an official brand new belt in my Sharp Twin Famicom (which wasn't even getting past the loading screen prior), and now I'm getting the dreaded Error 22. I understand that you're supposed to adjust the head to get it to work, but I heard adjusting the spindle might be necessary as well. Does anyone have any guides (preferably with pictures) that could help me out? I think I know what the head screw looks like, but I'm not exactly sure, and I have no idea what the spindle looks like.

    HALP.

This isn't the totally awesome one I used when I learned to repair mine (can't find that one), but this one will do. Especially the last step. Just look for the potentiometer and try to adjust the motor. Tightening the screw on the drive's center point is also useful.

See, I've tried adjusting the motor, but that isn't doing anything. I can try again, but I'm pretty sure it's the head.

EDIT: Also, that's the guide that I used to change the belt already.

To adjust what I think is called the "head," you'll just need to find the hexa- or octagonal (can't remember) bit of the right size. You' ll then just loosen the screw, turn that center head so that the screwhole faces right, then tighten the screw, IIRC. Haven't done this but once, so be careful in case I'm wrong about the procedure.

As far as adjusting the motor, you need to turn it all the way one direction and turn it the other direction a little bit at a time, testing your disk again at each interval.

Here, let me show a picture:

Am I supposed to adjust that bronze screw with the silver coil around it? Is that the only thing needed to adjust the head? Do I make it tighter or looser?

Can you find a way to reduce the size of the pic?
