Default North American official home game system checklist/timeline.

Like the title says I'm trying to make a checklist/timeline of all the North America officially licensed home game systems. The guidelines I’m going by in terms of a “home game system” are:

    1. It has to have a separate item (cart, card, or CD) to play a game. (This is to exclude things like the pong systems, the Atari Flash backs and other plug N’ play systems)

    2. Its main purpose has to be the games. (This is to exclude the older PCs like Ti-99, Commodore 64, and others)

    3. It does not require more than the one item to play the majority of games. (This is to exclude things like the Hyperscan Where all games require cards to play)

    4. It can’t be targeted to one age group. (this is to exclude things like the V Smile and other learning systems)

    5. It can’t be a Handheld. (this is to exclude things like Game Boy, Game Gear, and others Handheld)

    6. It has to have more than one genre of game. (This is to exclude the XaviX)

Using the guidelines this is what I have so far.

    1972:
    Magnavox Odyssey

    1976:
    Fairchild Channel F
    RCA Studio II

    1977:
    Atari 2600 (Heavy Sixer)
    Tele-Games 2600 (Heavy Sixer)
    Bally Astrocade
    Coleco Telstar Arcade

    1978:
    Magnavox Odyssey 2
    Atari 2600 (Light Sixer)

    1979:
    Mattel Intellivision

    1980:
    Atari 2600 (4 switch)
    Tele-Games 2600 (4 switch)

    1982:
    Atari 2600 (Darth Vader)
    Supercharger (Atari 2600)
    Atari 5200
    Colecovision
    Vectrex
    Emerson Arcadia 2001

    1983:
    Mattel Intellivision II

    1984:
    Atari 7800

    1985:
    Nintendo Entertainment System

    1986:
    Atari 2600 Jr.
    Sega Master System

    1989:
    Sharp 19SV111 (Sharp Nintendo Television)
    TurboGrafx 16
    TurboGrafx CD
    Sega Genesis

    1990:
    Neo-Geo

    1991:
    Super Nintendo Entertainment System
    Philips CD-I

    1992:
    Sega CD
    Turbo DUO

    1993:
    Atari Jaguar
    Panasonic 3DO
    Pioneer Laser Active

    1994:
    Sega Genesis Model 2
    Sega CD Model 2
    Sega 32X
    Sega CDX
    JVC X'Eye
    Nintendo Entertainment System-101 (Top loader)
    Neo-Geo CD
    Memorex VIS

    1995:
    Playstation
    Sega Saturn
    Virtual Boy
    Apple Pippin
    Jaguar CD

    1996:
    Nintendo 64

    1997:
Super Nintendo Entertainment System-101 (Mini SNES)

    1998:
    Sega Genesis 3

    1999:
    Sega Dreamcast

    2000:
    PSOne
    Playstation 2

    2001:
    Nintendo Game Cube
    Microsoft X Box

    2004:
    Playstation 2 (Slim)

    2005:
    Microsoft X Box 360

    2006:
    Nintendo Wii
    PlayStation 3

    2009:
    Sega Firecore (Genesis 4)

I’m looking for anything that I missed that fits into the guidelines and if the system ever had a re-release I need the date of the re-release. (IE Genesis 2, 3, and so on)

These are the guidelines that I’m using in my personal collection if anyone wants one removed and can supply a good reason for removing it I will.

Yea, I added it and the CDX to the list but the date for the turbo DUO might be wrong Wikipedia only has one Release date of 1992 and I think that's for the PC Engine Duo or did they both come out within the same year?

There's no entry for the Emerson Arcadia 2001. The Intellivision started out in 1979. And you've misspelled Vectrex.

Check, check, and spell check thanks! I also added the Coleco Telstar Arcade. I knew there were systems missing from the list I used as a reference.

Their coming slowly, it's the year released that I don't know I'm looking up the 2600 now if you know any release dates to systems you don't see post'em. Thanks.
