I was wondering if any virtualboy prototypes ever popped up?
(Super mario land, starfox tech demo or the 007 racer)
And if its possible to dump them.

I know in the prototype central a few members have mentioned the ability to dump vb protos. Dont ask me about the availabiltiy of such protos, ive never seen one, im sure others have if they can dump them.
I know a ducth collector how has a virtual boy prototype so they are out there.
But prices for them are extreem high.
I've seen pics of Bound High and Dragon Hopper, so I know those protos are out there somewhere. And when I was big into the VB scene several years ago, I traded a few times with someone who had a Faceball 2000 proto. Seen pics too, so I'm pretty sure it's legit. They haven't been dumped though and probably never will.
The VB scene is really strange. A lot of the people with the rare stuff refuse to dump it, which is fine but I'm surprised there hasn't been *any* VB protos dumped yet. And a full VB rom set wasn't even available until last year.
Rom set? so you can play the roms on pc?
I heard a full set can be hard to get, even with 22 games because of space invaders and bowling.
I have a few Virtual Boy protos..
The protos you mention have been dumped, but aren't publicly available. (Not the ones Mr. Obscure mentions)
Also, The Dutch collector Niels sold all of his, so I'm not sure who else you are referring to..
Virtual Boy = Neo Geo in terms of community dumping/etc.
No im not talking about Niels dream, im talking about a palrocker.
He had a prototype for sale for $1500 on the forum and marktplaats.
do you know if the mario,007 and starfox are out there dream? there should also be a bomberman(different 1) out there.
There was a artical this month in a U.K. magazine, because its almost V.B. birthday.
mr Obscure, the only ones I know for SURE that exist are a tech demo with DOnkey Kong and MArio Running , Bound High, Galactic Pinball different, Virtual Fishing, Dragon Hopper, Panic Bomber, and Faceball, there might be others but I know those exist off the top of my head
Thanks for the reply, this question just popped in my head.
Would be cool to see the Proto's surface, but I know the collectors are nuts when it comes to keeping stuff all to themselves.

Am I crazy, or was the Bound High ROM available via the purchase of one of those Virtual Boy flash carts? I seem to also remember hearing that the game crashes after a level or two, but I don't know if that's a problem in the prototype itself, something corrupt about the ROM, or an emulation issue. I think it was a data overflow problem, though, so it would be awesome if someone could fix that and ideally get a game that's playable from beginning to end (assuming that it was completed that far, but given that it was pretty much ready to hit the shelves, I'd think so).
Hi,
As you could probably tell by my name i stumbled across this thread and joined up for the explicit purpose of possibly acquiring Mario for the Virtual boy. If the owner of one/it is finished playing with it and or has plans to sell could you please P.M. me?
Kind regards,
I have been on a hunt for Dragon Hopper since 2001, but have baby pictures of me reaching out to touch pictures of it in the Nintendo Power issue it was featured in long ago. My parents used to have me sit and drool while staring it at. There was also a popular GIF images from around the same year called "baby s first Dragon Hopper.gif" which is based on the idea of infant discovery of obscure games, later to be used in several Nintendo franchises. I am proud to have been an inspiration for that even though Nintendo doesn't acknowledge any of my work or that it was me in the pictures. If you know what game I'm talking about, there's a picture in it that looks almost identical to the gif.
As for the massive Nintendo leak, my only hope is that it will produce Dragon Hopper. I am interested in knowing if Kirby's Air Ride 64, the GBC Starfy, and some other elusive treasure is among that stash, but Dragon Hopper is my holy grail. If that game is part of the package, then I can die happy.
