Default MS e-mail xbox 360 console repair time. Did I get one too quickly?

I know the topic doesn't make any sense but I couldn't figure out how to phrase it.

I sent in my 360 to MS about a week ago and they just received it today. I got the e-mail saying that they got it and then about 4 hours later I got an e-mail saying that they were sending my console back to me. Does that mean that they fixed it or that they are just sending me my old one back? I didn't mod it but the warranty sticker was removed so I got a new one put on.

So my question is: is it a good sign or a bad sign that they e-mailed me back so quickly?
    Thanks

Seems like a typical turn around time to me. Mine went about that quick too.

Be aware that you aren't necessarily getting your original console back. You likely will be recieving one that had been serviced at a earlier date, while the one you had sent in will likely be repaired down the road and then be sent to someone else that sends a console in for repair.

Mine was turned around that fast, and I got my original back. It doesn't take long to throw new hardware in it.

Mine quit working (for the second time). How do I request a repair online? I know of the page where you register the console but this one has already been registered by phone. It won't let me register again. But when I sign in I don't see the console listed and I don't remember giving them the Xbox Live email and gamertag over the phone. So how would I even be able to find the console on their site if there isn't just an option to give your phone number and have it show the registered console?

I really don't want to do this by phone again, that was a terrible experience.

If you can't register it and it's not appearing on your console list, I'd just phone. As far as I'm aware, you can't request a repair for an unregistered console.

Your only other option as I see it is to send a email to the appropriate email address and hope someone actually reads it and acts upon it to help you out, which could take several days.

And I'd bet on not recieving more than a form letter in return that shows you something useless like how to register your console from MS's site, which won't do you any good since you've discovered it isn't allowing you to do it.

Chances are MS will send you a refurbished 360. I doubt they will fix your console.

That turnaround time seems in line with the 2 systems I had die and were replaced. They most likely didn't fix yours and have just gotten you a new refurb. Fixes take a few days+ for them to process. It's just easier to send out a refurb for any of the E74/broken disc drives/RRoD issues than for you to wait for your innards to be replaced.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

I have just gone through the same situation. This will be my third 360 system but the first I have sent to MS for repair. I did everyhting as instructed online and I sent the system out last Tuesday and UPS says they received it on Friday, however, xbox.com still says "waiting for console. Is this normal?

Fixed it too fast? Some people will bitch about anything .

Seriously though, you probably got a refurb and your actual console is in pile waiting to be sent to someone else. That's been my experience anyway.

I think their progress emails are a little behind. I had already gotten mine back before I got the email that they were sending it out.
