It wasn't too hard...although I'm a Mega Man veteran. I'd still say the first Mega Man is the hardest.

Yea the classic controller owns, I seriously hate the wii remote as a wannabe NES controller, it "SUCKS!!!", and as much as people would like to make it out to be one, it will never be a NES controller.
PS. It sucks that there's no Classic Controller support for Blaster Master Overdrive sigh.

I'm like obsesed with Jewel Man's stage I can beat it under 1 minute 30 seconds the mini boss is so easy its funny to kill it all you need is the Bee weapon and the cum shot, i mean Concrete Shot, as soon as you enter the room shoot the bee weapon 3 times so 3 bees pop out when they hit the rock it will fall, then quickly switch to C. Shot and then jump right before it reaches the ground so you dont get stunned, make sure your buster is facing it, then spam C Shot like no tomorrow you will kill it in a matter of seconds.
What's up with islands? Get more land.
What's up with deserts? Get less sand.
I'm not incredibly skilled at Mega Man games either, but I managed to work through MM9 in a few days. It might actually be the only MM games I've beaten... made it deep into MM2 and MM3, but never FINISHED them.
That said, I'd say it's the easy-save system that makes it easier to go through. If I had to work through every boss every time, I might've had more trouble. Now, question is, with MM10 supposedly having an "easy" mode, how "OMGWTFIDEID" is it going to be on "normal?" o_O
I got to the third boss in Dr. Wily's castle, the two blobs that behave like the Rockmonster from MM1. After dying and working my way back the Wily stage 3 a couple times, I got burnt out and took a break. That was months ago, now if I want to pick it up again I'll have to start over and re-establish my mojo. You can't just start playing the last stage cold, you know.
just dl'ed this game last night and already beat 5 bosses. the game is definitely challenging and sticks to the megaman 2 formula. alot of the lvl's even feel/look like megaman 2 lvl's.
it is a good game so far. some parts are frustraing or dont really fit, like tornado man's stage with the rotating screw things.
Mega Man games have always been hard. MM9 was definitely no different. Though, it didn't particularly strike me as more difficult than the others. I still have the most trouble with the original.
I found MM9 to be average difficulty for an MM game. I didn't find it harder than say, MM3. Then again, there hasn't been a single MM original series game I didn't beat in a day or 2, except MM1 and I was really young then. Next to MM2, MM9 is definitely my favorite. The music rules.

The moral is, don't **** with Uncle Tim when he's been drinking!
Maybe I should actually play the game more.
I beat one boss (I think it was Galaxy Man or something).
I have not gone back because I kinda suck at MM games, and I have not messed with the save feature to see if I have to deal with stuff later on (trying to save right before the boss fight or something).
so, i got to the third wily stage and made it to the third boss, the cyclops, i died like 5 times against him and havent picked it up in 10 days. not sure why, but i definitely lost interest. i hate how you have to beat all the wily stages in one sitting. they shold have made it so you can save at the end of each stage, but i guess that wouldnt be true to its roots.
not sure if its a flaw or not, but i do this with alot of NES games. i get to a frustrating tough part, put it down for a week or so, and then come back to it.
i will prolly pick it back up in a couple days or so.
Game on.
Aww don't let that Cyclops stop you! It is simple memorization and he's cake once you learn the pattern and use the black hole bomb. Just watch a few youtube videos of it to learn the jumping pattern and you'll beat him with ease.
Wily's castle isn't that bad at all once you've given the game some practice. Usually I buy one of those spike immunity things in case I jump to hard in the water part, and buy one of the half damage items for the last Wily. If you do that, it's really easy... even if you don't, it is still quite doable.
I got faith in you man!

Here's a trick. The Black Hole Bomb can be fired quickly if you pause the game after shooting it. Normally you'd only be able to hit the core once per turn but if you pause right after shooting him the weapon's animation disappears letting you shoot again. You can hit him two or three times per round this way.
