    Default Logitech Cyberman

So, I found one of these a long time ago at the thrift store, and I finally got around to trying it out today. I figured it would work well for Descent. Unfortunately, all that works are the buttons. Turns out I apparently need to load special drivers for it. The Descent FAQ refers to these as the "SWIFT" drivers, and a little research has told me that this is apparently the name of the protocol that Logitech used with the device. Unfortunately, I can't find these drivers anywhere... any ideas where I might find them? All the impressions I've read on the internet say that the Cyberman is actually pretty crappy, but I want to try it out for myself.

(Note that the Cyberman 2 is a different device using a different protocol.)

Awesome! Thanks a lot, works great... or rather, it works properly... trying to actually control your ship in Descent is a real chore. I guess this thing is going back into the bin with the rest of the weird controllers I've found over the years (alongside the Sidewinder Dual Strike, Microsoft Strategic Commander, and The Claw).

    How is the Strategic Commander?
My buddy has one at his store, and I've always been curious about it.

I bought one of these back in the day to play Descent with. I think I gave up trying after a week or two, and it went into a junk drawer.

I still haven't tried actually playing any games with it. Seems a little awkward with button placement, and trying to get fine movement from your off-hand, but I imagine you get used to it. I can't imagine spending full price on such a device, but I think I found it for $5 at the local thrift, so can't argue with that.

    "Rise from your grave!"

I just picked up a Logitech Cyberman earlier today. It was only a buck so I figured I might as well snag it because my existing serial mouse is about to crap out on me so hopefully this thing will be a decent replacement.

The driver link still works as well. Thanks Weirdguy! I have been scouring the reaches of the internet for a driver and found nothing until good ol' Digital Press pointed me in the right direction.

Now I just hope the driver install is rather painless... we shall see...
