    Default Doctor Who Wii game.

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...r-the-Wii.html
The BBC signed with Nintendo to make a Wii and DS game for the show.I've wanted a proper Doctor Who game for a good twenty years and am at least happy they went with Nintendo.Any ideas what the game will be like?I kind of imagine quick time events .

    That links to "The Sun".

Other sites are saying this is real, but it seems like a strange thing for Nintendo to do. Maybe it's actually a different company making the game for Wii.

I saw the story on the Doctor Who newspage over here:http://gallifreynewsbase.blogspot.com/
-Sounds like it is Nintendo themselves though.

Do I have to play as the generic looking new doctor, or can I be Tom Baker? Think of all the possibilities of combining the sonic screwdriver, a wii remote and a 20 foot scarf.

Believe it or not, there already IS a Doctor Who game for the Wii... sort of. It's actually a card battle game based on some (I think) British card game called Top Trumps. I'd love to see a real game based on the show though... hopefully they'd released it in North America too.

There was even a Doctor Who game way before that one released in the early 1990's for the Amiga and DOS PC's and a Window's 95/98 adventure game in the late 90's that was only released in the UK. Hopefully this new game ends up being good.

The DS version is also a Top Trumps game. Top Trumps is a glorified version of the card game "War".

I am intrigued by the idea of using a wiimote as a sonic screwdriver...

I'm still having a hard time understanding why Nintendo would develop a Doctor Who game. I posted earlier that the person that wrote the article may be misinformed and it's actually just going to be a Wii game made by a different company. Nintendo just publishing it and maybe having one of the companies they own develop the game? I can see that.

So, if the article really meant that Nintendo is developing, either The Sun is doing their usual fake news (though other sites have said this story really is real) or we're being set up as April Fools.

Or it's real and Nintendo is going to try to develop licensed games again. When was the last time that happened? Popeye?

It doesn't make much sense for Nintendo to do this, beyond the UK this game will have a very limited appeal (My understanding is that Doctor Who is more a cult show in most countries rather than the mass popular mainstream show it is here). Still, they can easily afford it, £10 million is nothing to Nintendo at the moment!
