Default Super Tempo for the Sega Saturn

Alright, so I picked up a sealed copy (NIB) of Super Tempo for about $5 and was SHOCKED to see the only copy (CIB, not NIB) on ebay going for $319.99.

    Is it really worth that?????

While I'd love to keep it, if it actually goes for $300 plus online... I might as well just sell it.

Sealed is always hard to gauge but 2 complete opened copies have ended on ebay in the last few weeks with ZERO bids at $100.00. Doesn't seem like there's much interest if nobody's bid on much cheaper complete copies recently.

There's one on ebay for $319 with 3 declined offers. I wish I knew what the offers were.

It is listed in the $60-70 range on some used Japanese game websites, but they have all been out of stock for months.

A few other websites claim this IS worth around $300 CIB, but since it rarely comes up (I guess it really is rare?), it's hard to judge.

I'm very tempted to open it and play it, but I'm in Japan for a few more weeks and my Saturn is in Canada, so I'll just leave it sealed until at least then.

Satakore's typically a decent reference, and they've got it listed as a 5/10 for both rarity and price. As a reference, Haunted Casino is a 4/10 and when I first picked it up, I saw it selling for ~$50 CIB.

I'm not sure what the sealed price would be for Super Tempo, however. Looks like a neat game though.

Oh, I haven't seen that site before. Thanks!

Radiant Silvergun has a rarity of 2/10 and price of 10/10.

Why on earth is Super Tempo listed at $300??????? I don't get it.

They're probably doing what people do with every other item with little to go on - putting it at the highest price possible and hoping someone who doesn't know any better will bite.

This makes it hard for anyone to get a fair deal anymore.

For a couple years now I have wondered what happened to the price of Super Tempo on eBay.

From 2000-2006 or so it sold for $30-50 iirc.
Then it showed up less and less, and there was a period where no copies were available. That is when that seller listed one for $300.
That $300 copy has been on ebay for 2 years or more if I'm not mistaken.
It has certainly helped to drive the price up it seems. I've seen it sell on USA eBay for $80+ a couple times in the past year or more.

Somehow I was thinking that the popularity of music games and the subsequent "exposure" of any game that was musically related had a lot to do with the increase in interest for Super Tempo.
It sure is a unique game but not $100+ unique.
I'd say for gameplay and graphics it is worth $20, and then given the fact it is on Saturn and quite unique in its style that might be worht an extra $10.
OK, so scientifically proven: it isn't worth more than $30 :P

Well, if that's the case, then I might as well just open the thing and play it. If someone buys it from me for a price I can buy Radiant Silvergun at, then I'm a very happy guy. If not, then I'm still happy that I have what looks like a unique and fun Saturn platformer that not many Saturn owners have in their collections.

According to Backloggery, it's my 101st Saturn game. I'm happy with it in my collection!

Yeah, I don't think anyone is buying at $300

You might get well over $100 for it, and then if you're lucky, buy an open copy for less than $100, but is it even worth the effort?

Opening a minty fresh factory sealed Saturn game in 2010, and especially as your 101st game, certainly is something to enjoy.

    Cheers!

    Already had two interested PMs.

Sure, just show me where you can buy an open copy for less than $100 please.

    Agreed!

I've long wanted this game but I never got around to buying it and the price has crept up to the nosebleed range. Ugh.

Maybe you'll get lucky? This is DEFINITELY an inflated price.

Accepted a straight up trade for Radiant Silvergun.
So, the high value on ebay is about $300 for CIB and the low value (that I've seen) is about $150 (my estimated Radiant Silvergun price).
