Default VCD card for Saturn help.

I'm interested in getting a Sega Saturn VCD card, but I'm not sure if it'll work on my US system because this is a Japanese import accessory for a JAP Saturn. My Saturn is modded, and I have the Action replay plus card which lets me play import games. Is there a US version of this card, or another method to play VCD's on the Saturn?

The VCD card was never release in the US for the fact that VCDs never took off here. The VCD card will work fine on your US Saturn. Just make sure to put the cart all the way in the slot.

Ok, so now that I know the VCD card will work, which one is best? Hitachi, JVC 2.0, or Sega VCD cards?

I believe the JVC/Victor VC2 or VC3 VCD cards are the way to go.

They have the most features over the other cards, like the ability to read Kodak Photo CDs. I haven't personally used one but I have been on the hunt for a VC3 for sometime.
If a god is willing to prevent evil, but not able, then he is not omnipotent. If he is able, but not willing, then he must be malevolent. If he is both willing and able, then why is there evil? If he is neither able or willing then why call him a god?

Bought the Victor V.3 card. I tried 6 different VCDs. I get a message at the normal player screen saying "Disc requires system application" What does that mean, what do I do?

The error message you are getting is due to the VCD card not being fully or properly inserted. Make sure the card is riding on the two rails properly and must be pushed all the way back (making it nearly flush with the plastic rail-guide but hanging over about 2mm max.) so it is installed and recognized. Barring that the card might simply be toast and or the slot toast too. I've used my RG-VC20 card on my US model 2s, my Japan model 2 (white), and my two Japan V-Saturn model 2s, all worked without fail.
    Whaddya mean invalid parameters?!

9,000 gigs of ram and it still can't answer a simple question!
