Two broken Sega CDs

I have 3 Sega CDs... Two of which do not turn on. Different power supplies, different sega genesis', same result. Zero activity.

I opened up both of them only to find the boards look fantastic and the capacitors are all in tact with no leaks. I went over each board with a fine tooth comb to try and spot burn marks or ANY inconsistencies. Everything looked fine.

Any possible ideas?

They're both Model 2s. One is a version 1(larger main board with a lot of resistors) and the other is a version 2(hardly any resistors and a lot more capacitors). I can take high res pictures of each if need be.

Could a dead 2016 battery(for BIOS I presume) make the whole thing unturnonable?

Maybe somebody tried plugging an NES AC adaptor into the SCD AC adaptor input? I did that with not just one, but TWO model 2 sega cd's back in the late '90's. Thankfully, it was at the time the system was available for $30 at Toys R Us, so it wasn't catastrophic, but still... DO NOT PLUG AN NES AC ADAPTOR INTO A SEGA CD!
If you're wondering "why", it's because I was 14 and left my SCD adaptor at a friend's house, and thought, "hmm, it's the same size, it fits = it must work!"

If you did happen to have an NES plug, plugged into it then you would have blown the fuses in it I believe.

I was just going to say, any Sega CD that doesn't power on the first thing you should check is the fuse.

I second checking the fuse.

I bought a non-working model 2 sega cd. It wouldn't power on but everything looked fine. After taking ten minutes to replace the fuse it worked beautifully.

My model 1 wouldn't power up one day, and I suspected the fuse, but it was still under warranty so I sent it to Sega and they fixed it for me. (Yes, this was a long time ago)

I hope is not obvious but there is a metal part between the geny and the cd make sure is properly attached to the geny and push firmly in place because that is the common ground for both.
