It looks like, to me, that it's built with the engine of the FF7 NES. Note the battle theme and mechanics.

Why doesn't some one romhack the FF7 NES rom to balance the game out? Also change the music to either FF7 remixes or other games that are more similar to the FF7 music.

That's cool. I would have tried something like that but I've one time attempted to romhack using a guide and I quickly gave up.

So I played until I got bored (around where the crystal gets stolen, and then there's something I have to do to get the ship and I have idea what).

Running the game at 100000% speed makes it more tolerable.

They got the sprite for the mist dragon OK but the rest are junk.
The worldmap is tiny. Dungeons are terrible. And it plays exactly like FF7NES. Even has 'materia'.

I would propose that there might just be money to be made in areas where 8-bit hardware is still commonplace, but even Nintendo has stopped selling Famicoms.
