Default Sega Saturn: Daytona USA Netlink Edition (sealed)

The auction ended, but look what the final price was. Wow!

Makes me wonder what a used copy fetches.

This is probably on the "cheap" side too. CIB copies were going for $800++ for a long time.

That wasn't a legit factory sealed copy.

Based on what? The seller was the official distributor of Sega parts and the only source I am aware of to buy this version of the game when it was available by mail order. I don't know if Service Concepts is still the official parts/repair facility for Sega, but they sure were at the time Daytona USA CCE NetLink came out and that's where most of us bought our copies originally in the Saturn era. Apparently they have sold at least three of these recently, all for over $1K. I wonder how many more they still have?

I didn't know it was sold thru a parts facility. I bought mine through a special toll-free number that was set up only for the deal. Had to call and give my netlink serial number in order to purchase it for around $30 plus shipping. I also got a second copy for free from a netlink website I worked at. Unfortunatly I sold both copies several years ago.

That was Sega Parts aka Service Concepts. I still have my original purchase receipt for the Netlink edition of the game and I recall having to call an 800 number to get it. They have been Sega's mail order/repair/replacement parts vendor for probably 15 years. They probably aren't anymore now that Sega is out of the hardware business and doesn't have to honor warranties on hardware repairs.

That is a legit sealed copy of the game. I bought one from service concepts last year for $800 with Buy It Now. Nice to see the value is already over $1000.

Well, if they keep dropping more onto Ebay, I suspect the value is gonna go way down. It looks like they have consistently put a copy up every ten days or so since January. They probably have several cases of the game and are just trickling them out.

Service concepts did buy Sega Parts, so yes, it is the same company. They probably did find the ones they had listed on their website in bulk, and it's about time, ...
