Serious answer: There are likely millions of SMB/DK carts out there because it was the pack-in game for the NES for a long time. Every serious collector has probably had a bunch of them at some point or another.

I don't think there are many people who care how many were producted exactly, but usually the rarer the game, the more interested people are in pulling numbers out like how many are known to exist/production numbers and stuff like that.

Well, according to my sources on craigslist, it's an ultra rare cart that goes for over $200 loose. There have been reports of lucky people finding the game for $3 in the wild, and trying to sell it for $30 on craigslist. Unfortunately, they don't seem to sell too often at this bargain, as people are not aware of the vast fortune this game brings.
