Default Is it safe to spray Axe on an SNES?

To remove marker? Besides making the system smell funny will it damage it in any way?

Just use rubbing alcohol. 50 cents at the dollar store.

Have you been playing point and click adventure games by any chance?

What is Axe? Like 5%. I've used 70% no problem before. Just use something with a bit of scrub to it...like the back of a kitchen sponge. Nothing that will scratch up your system of course. Just something to get down into the textured plastic.

I think the alcohol in Axe is a different kind of alcohol.

I'm completely Serious, look up Youtube videos of people removing marker with Axe, I tried it myself on a NES game and it worked pretty good.

Personally I'd try cleaning with gasoline before Axe, not sure what it'd do to the plastic but it should take the marker off.....and smell a little nicer than that body spray.

Why not use one of those magic sponges that can clean practically any substance off of any surface.

Should be fine as long as you don't mind your SNES smelling like a big douchebag.

XD Maybe my SNES wants to smell like a douchebag!
No but in all seriousness, is there anything I can do about the smell if I use Axe?

I would think the smell would go away eventually, unless it somehow melts into the plastic.

Problem is, the marker on the video is relatively "fresh" so it might come off quicker than that which has been on the surface for years.

I doubt alcohol is the only product that can break away the chemical bonds between the plastic and the marker. But then, if marker stains come off, wouldn't it be an heterogeneous stain, since it can be seperated?

Axe might help, though I swear that I imagined the SNES in a hot date with a Sega Genesis. No idea why...just popped into my head.

This is going to sound strange but when I can't get marker off systems/cartridges I take a toothbrush get it wet put a small dab of toothpaste on it and brush it until it's gone. It's worked everytime I've tried it.

I once tried a Mister Clean Magic Eraser on an NES cartridge. It claimed to be able to clean just about anything and it certainly handled the black marker scribbled across the back. Unfortunately it also took the shine away from the plastic and made an extremely noticeable smear. I don't recommend them.

Buy a can of Goo Gone Extreme, takes marker right off.

But maybe if you use Axe you'll have ill clad women clamoring to play with you!

My best solution for cleaning off old marker from games and consoles is actually eyeglasses cleaner. Don't know what's in it, but there's not much smell and it works extremely well. They hand the little bottles of the stuff out for free at many eyeglass shops.

Better than your games smelling like some dude named Chad.
