My new game rooms tour.

A few months back my wife and I bought a house. Since then we've done some rearranging, and now almost every room has become a game room.

The family room has a 50'' Hitachi plasma with a Samsung 5.1 system. Most of my current gen gaming is done in here, and I've got a few more arcade cabinets in the room as well.









Lastly, I set up a man-cave in the basement with a 32'' Sony Trinitron for all of my old-school gaming needs. So far it's coming along pretty nicely. I currently have a region modded Playstation, Saturn, Neo Geo, Genesis, Dreamcast, Super NES, Jaguar, Turbografx 16, and NES hooked up to the TV, with plenty more systems packed away in boxes until I get some more shelving for that room.

There's still quite a bit in storage, I figure I'll be digging most of those consoles and games out when I move the room to one of the upstairs bedrooms in a few months and come up with some more shelving options.

Until then, that's pretty much it.

lol, thanks Gamedude! Trust me, it was pretty crazy when I had my apartment, things were really cramped. On the plus side, it's pretty cool having one centralized area of gaming bliss.

You say that almost every room in the new place is a game room, and I couldn't help wondering if your wife is totally down with that, or if it one of those situations where she more or less of accepts/tolerates it (like most guys do when their wife decorates community areas)? Also, were you already into game collecting before you and your wife were married?

I should've recognized your name on here...but yeah did you post your game room on there? How many cabs in total do you have so far?

Yeah, I've been on the boards for about four years. Do you still maintain that insane monopoly on Double Dragon carts for the SMS? You always had a killer collection yourself. Strangely enough I haven't gotten around to posting my stuff on the Neo boards yet, despite it being my usual haunt.

I have four cabinets currently. I gave that Neo 2-slot conversion to my friend/roomie so he could get into the hobby. I had six, but I sold my other candy (a Korean Crowin Case), because it had been converted into a Ms. Pac Man, and was too much work to restore to proper JAMMA goodness.

Thanks man. My son already makes plenty of use of the games himself. He loves Soul Edge and Metal Slug. When we play outside he says to himself "One, three, four, five, spirits never die! NAMCO!" Hearing that from a two-year-old is absolute hilarity.
