Thanks!
You've got a hell of an eye! That sure is an Ikea lamp.
Yup, that's cloud on his Hardy Daytona. Got it as a wedding present from a friend. I love Kotobukiya statues.
Yes sir! That's the same reason I use mine. Currently I have a Genesis, SNES, TG-16, Neo Geo, Dreamcast, PSX, Saturn, Jaguar, NES, and an XBOX in the room getting use out of it. It's definitely a great CRT for standard-definition gaming.
You have a very nice setup, although I think the first room is alittle too white. Throw some color in there by hanging some posters or other video game memorabilia. But overall it's nicely organized and very clean looking.

I shouldn't discount making your own shelving, assuming you have the tools and you can find the time.
It's hard to find commercial storage solutions that don't end up looking like a hodge-bodge of sorts, especially when your collection starts to outgrow your shelf space. A lot of people with large collections tend to have everything housed in random bookshelves, racks, and cabinets of different sizes, heights, colour, etc..
I decided to just draw up some rough plans and make my own shelves and cabinets of out of MDF and plywood, and to paint them to match my room. The project took a few weekends, but in the end it was worth the effort. They worked out pretty well, and I'm totally inept when it comes to working with wood,so if I can do it, pretty much anyone can.
It's something to consider.
I just love a quality over quantity style game room. Good gaming hardware that obviously sees use, some neat memorabilia without being stuffed with common crap. Japanese stuff, domestic stuff, and to me a game room just isn't complete with out an arcade machine or two.
I approve!
Thanks. I have a few posters up, but, like Emperor Megas said, I think too much posters and such is a bit like overkill, at least in the normal living areas of my house. Though I'm not opposed to going poster crazy in my man-cave.
I agree wholeheartedly about the posters. As for painting, I'm pretty fond of just a clean, white room. It compliments the candy cabs.
Awesome, can't wait to see some pics when you get it set up!
Thanks XYXZYZ! And I agree completely, a few arcade machines are a definite must.
Heh, I'm guess I'm not in the club. I don't really have the room for an arcade machine, though honestly, the closest to a coin-op I'd want would be a MAME cabinet. One of the table top or cocktail sized ones.
Who knows though, I might feel differently about a dedicated cabinet if I had tons of space. I'm sure we all have our favorite arcade games that never get old after all. For me it'd be something like Blasteroids, Toobin' or maybe Gauntlet.
Hmmm, you know I just realized how many of my favorite arcade games were made by Atari.
I definitely wouldn't mind getting my grubby paws on a Gauntlet cabinet. Recently I saw an immaculate looking Dark Legacy floating around, but couldn't really justify picking it up with Too Many Games just on the horizon.
Atari did make some fantastic arcade games, but my favorites are from the late eighties and early '90s. Sega, Taito, SNK, and Capcom are pretty much my arcade companies of choice.
The thing about some of those Atari games is that I can play them over and over, and over, and they just never seem to get old. CAPCOM, Taito, SEGA, NAMCO and Data East made many of my favorite arcade games, but I see myself playing something like Blasteroids every few days, forever, rather than once every few weeks.
Oh, believe me, no one loves posters more than I do. I collect a lot of them, and frame the ones that I plan to display. I even have a framed life sized Kos-Mos poster for Xenosaga III at my station at work...it's about 6 feet high.
I just don't like it when they're all over the place and random is all, not that I care how other people decorate or anything.
With that said, why are those posters in the picture spaced so far out?
