I mean jesus christ how loaded are you?
Oh, not very. Actually, she got my Resident Evil 360 for a steal. She's a pretty good shopper and chases deals when she finds them.

EDIT: I'm totally jealous of the RE one, totally obsessed with that game atm.
I really enjoyed RE5, too. That RE Edition was my second 360. My first one was a launch unit and it's still sealed in the box, I never opened it. Not for collecting purposes or anything like that, I just didn't really want a 360 then (it was an unsolicited Christmas gift). But when I got the RE5 system (which came with RE5, and Street Fighter II HD) I tore into it right away. I'm a survival horror fiend, and Resident Evil is pretty much the Gold standard since Silent Hill jumped the shark after part three.

My Resident Evil 5 basket came with a lot of RE goodies. One of the cooler ones was a Making of Resident Evil 5 DVD, that came with a USB thumb drive shaped like a chainsaw:

I remember getting a Duncan yo-yo, some wooden tops and a set of jacks... Sometimes a kite too. That's back when kids still played outside a lot though.

Solid chocolate anything > Hollow chocolate anything. Chocolate with crispy rice or caramel centers trump everything!

No more Easter baskets for me... I'm older than 10.

And yet most of us here still play video games, collect stuffed toys and cover our walls with tacky magazine inserts.

Nope, got some Cadbury Eggs and a big-ass Chocolate Easter Bunny this year. I'm fine with that.

That's about the extent of what we ever got as well. Sure, we did the whole painting and hunting for eggs thing, and getting candy and whatnot, but when I found out about other people getting big gifts on Easter, I was pretty confused by the concept.

Slightly off topic, but man, I just digested that part about the yo-yo and a kite.

I'll never forget when I got my first Duncan yo-yo -- it was a clear deep purple one. That thing got so much use it was ridiculous. I used to play with constantly, but sadly, I never mastered it, which was secretly a source of great shame because I knew people who could do tons of yo-yo tricks. Still, no matter how hard I tried I just wasn't very good at anything but the basic up and down motion, and I wasn't especially good at that even.

And I use to freaking LOVE flying kites, I haven't done it since I was a kid though. Every single year for the past 15 or so years I say that I'm going to fly kites in March, and every year I make some excuse not to. I really should just do it.

It's actually pretty funny because whenever I show my wife pictures of people's game rooms she always like; "That looks like a little girls room with all those toys and fold outs on the wall."

It is pretty cool, but it was really difficult figuring out how to open the chainsaw drive. I must have spent 15 minutes trying. It wasn't really tough once I discovered how, I just didn't want to break it while trying to figure it out.

Don't remember getting games, but I did get the Pac-Man Fever album one year. Too bad a hamburger eraser made me sick. One whiff of that and I was puking. Not so good times. Also, the album skipped. Majorly. I remember we took it back, but the other one skipped too.

Haven't gotten any in a while, but one year back when I was a kid, I found Mega Man 6 in one basket, and Turtles in Time in another. Not much is gonna top that, I'm just happy to get a little candy these days!

I loved yo-yos. Then later, it became a fad and you got all those weird ones that would auto retract... After that I was told that these were originally invented as weapons and I loved the idea that an intended tool of violence was turned into an innocent play-thing. I got back into them right after that happened. I still have my pro-comp yo-yo I got then. Still throw it around when I'm lost in thought about other things. It's like chewing pens/pencils for others.

Agreed on the kites too. I laughed so hard when the Big Bang Theory guys went to fight kites... I'd do it too.
