So I read that article on yahoo today, and I was wondering:

How much can I actually get for my DKC Championship edition and the green box it came in? If anyone could tell me or direct me to a pricing site, I'd appreciate it.

Put it up with a $1k BIN on eBay and you'll probably get it.

Cart only sold for $850 yesterday, I bet you could get $1200-$1400 for a complete with box version while it's hot.

I'll put it this way. I paid $30 for my copy with case in 2002. I then sold the case without the insert (A good friend was missing his, I just gave it to him) and the game for $300 in 2005. And you see where it is today.

I likely won't go up that exponentially as it has for some time after this. It may not. The chances are as likely as you staying around these boards once you're satisfied with the answer to your question. :P

But, yeah, I agree. These things tend to go in waves. Maybe the market is just hot right now with all the big money games in the news. The going rate could drop by a couple hundred dollars in a few years or it could stay the same. I don't think it'll go much higher than a grand, though, if that's what you want to know.

But, hell. $1000 for a game Nintendo Power charged $35 for back in the day isn't too bad a deal if you're asking whether or not you should sell now.

Thanks for all the help. If I'd have known this would be so much money a few years down the road, I'd have been waaaay happier to open it up Christmas morning.

Hahaha, yeah I thought the same thing. My dad thought it'd be a cool gift anyways, though. Funny thing is, I never actually owned DKC, just this version.
