Removing stains from plastic?

Hey, I just got this Dreamcast today, and there's these brown stains on it. Here's a pic of it.

How do I clean that off?

Rubbing Alcohol will probably take that off, I use that for marks such as those.

If rubbing alcohol won't work, then use Goo Gone, that should take are of it easily.

I already tried both of those prior to posting this. It's not just some dried fluid. It looks to have stained into the plastic.

Try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser next.

Magic Erasers!! I cleaned the scuffs up on my duo-r with one. Worked perfectly

I heard that stuff was abrasive, and actually removes the finish from things.

That looks pretty set in, I doubt even a magic eraser would work. Problem is if you try too hard you'll leave a ugly worn spot from abrasion. You could try to dab some whiteout or something over it the spots, probably wouldn't look very good though.

If nothing works at least non-working Dreamcasts are plentiful and cheap so you could just swap the top half of the shell pretty easily.

did u try gasoline....sounds crazy but it works on a lot of stains that wont come off of things..

I was wondering if you tried some kind of all-purpose surface cleaner? For example I've been successful with Windex Antibacterial Multi-Surface cleaner on some occasions, maybe you'll get lucky with something like that in this case. In fact that is the very thing I used on my SNES that was donated to me to clean it up, it helped a lot.

Try using a bleach pen.

Hmm, you may need to try the stronger stuff like Retrobrite. If that is paint, you may try paint remover though you should use a Q-tip and work with it slowly. Last thing to do which may be the easiest is to paint the thing.
