Pretty decent finds on Monday, Rob. Almost makes up for the bad day Sunday. Like I said, I think you're going to hit the jackpot sometime within the next 2 months.

Just picked up Counter Strike, Cel Damage, and Genma Onimusha all for the Xbox for a total of $3.77. Gamestop is having a buy one get two free sale on all Xbox games.

Interesting tidbit...Radar Mission was my first Gameboy game as a kid (besides the Tetris pack-in). I still play it to this very day. The back of the cartridge is tan colored as well as the top of the cartridge due to the amount of time I spent playing it during car trips.

I keep a GBA in the car to play it while waiting for my fiancee to get off work

    Yesterday's finds:

It turns out Yokaiden was written and drawn by the artist that made that infamous Anime Simpsons picture - Nina Matsumoto (Space Coyote). It turned out to be a pretty decent book, at that.

    Today's finds:

Office Home and Student 2007 was $5, Outlook 2003 was also $5 but it was boxed (I tossed it, it was damaged.) Futurama CIB was $7 (going to eBay), and the weird things today were those two boxes at the top. They're PS1/PS2 and Dreamcast VGA Boxes (total cost: $6). The DC one is Naki branded, the other one... who knows. I don't really need either of them, I just bought them for trade purposes, if anyone wants either lemme know.

    Story time!

One particular booth had Zelda 1, Tetris and I forget what other game complete and boxed, along with a complete NES and loose games. I ask the guy for a price, he refuses to give me one. He then says "they're on hold for someone." This isn't the first time he's done this to me, I see stuff I'm interested in but he always "holds it" for someone. Dunno who. Oh well, his loss, I had 200 bucks on me and I was this close to showing it to his face just to say "Your loss, dick."

Yeah, Radar Mission was one of the games I had as a kid and spent hooouururrsss playing it. I saw it and HAD to grab it. Popped it in my gba and was transported to 20 years ago. It's amazing that after all those years I still had the twitch reflexes for firing the guns at the enemy sub in Type A. Plus, it's kinda cool to have a pocket electronic version of battleship.

Probably overpaid for this, but thought it was pretty cool:

It came with the regular version of Red Alarm w/ writing on label . Same guy was setting up for a garage sale this weekend and had a bunch of other games/systems for good prices, but I didn't have any more cash (and it was far away), so I just bought the games for $10. Didn't think I had the NES games, but I do. At least these are in better condition. The PS game just looked interesting.

Picked these up for $100 each from a local gameshop, in support of Women's Breast Cancer.

Check that it actually has Spear of Destiny included, many copies of the game only had Wolf3D included due to an error. It happened to me when I bought that version of the game brand new years ago, I later found online an email to contact and was sent a replacement disc with Spear of Destiny. If you need the email address I can look it up for you, just let me know if your copy is missing Spear of Destiny.

Spidersense started tingling on the way to the grocery, so I stopped at Goodwill. Found a loose Xbox for 11.99. Brought it home since my GW has an actual return policy (7 days) and it works great, although the tray/eject mechanism seemed to be a little touchy. Had a copy of Morrowind inside.

The pisser is that while hooking it up to test it, my home theater receiver decided to eat itself. Not real happy about that.

Last month, I raided a going out of business sale at the local Hollywood Video and picked up 250 original XBox games for ten cents each. I made my money back having sold the dozen copies of Splinter Cell Chaos Theory that were included in the lot, and am left with 230 copies of Madden '04 to use as party favors and gag gifts.

This month, I played smarter and got while the gettin' was good. I snagged every single non-sports game for the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube in one Hollywood Video, and another 200 from a different one. I paid a little more.

This is more than 250 games, some boxed, some loose, two or three sealed, all for $.50 each.

I also picked up 100 NES games. They're all completely middle-of-the-road. Nothing too awesome, nothing too awful.

Not pictured, I happened upon a nice lot of systems for about a hundred bucks:

    • NES
    • SNES
    • 2 N64s
    • PS1
    • Atari 2600
    • Genesis
    • XBOX
    • Gameboy Color
    • 3DO
    • Dreamcast
    • A surplus of plugs and wires (Who doesn't need 5 NES adapters?)
    • A couple of games

From what I understand its only in the last week or something.

I'm waiting for the one by me to drop more than 50%, but it hasn't happened yet.

even on the last week, mine never went to under 90% off and there was nothing but a bunch of disc only xbox games.

At Hollywood #1, where I got the dime sports games, I went the night before their final day and wheeled and dealed with the liquidator guy directly.

I went to Hollywood #2 so many times during the sale that I was being confused for staff. They knew me, I knew them, we were pals. They didn't have as much variety, but even when they were at 40% off, they gave me an extra 10% off for asking nicely, buying in bulk, and being a regular. They even volunteered to give me a bunch of ridiculous Game Crazy signage like "Hey Mom! Check out these great games!" when I was in there yesterday. They're closing Saturday.

At Hollywood #3, where I got the sealed stuff and a better variety, the one employee recognized me from when I'd come into Hollywood #1 for the $4.99 PS2/XBox/GC sales on a weekly basis. They close Friday, and had a *lot* of games left they were anxious to get rid of.

This is only one store worth of receipts. Apparently, if you buy too much at one time, their scanner resets so they have to do multiple transactions.

    Yep. $.50

That doesn't answer your question though. How do you get cheaper games? Ask nicely, put your money where your mouth is, and be awesome.
