Default The end of the game.com -- a nifty new website.

    Hello, everyone.

Since I've always been just a tad interested in doing some research on the game.com, I recently acquired an official game.com development kit and went to town exploring the games with the aid of memory cheats. After I had collected some game ending sequences, I decided to dig deeper and get a few interviews, too. The resulting information and screens are now available on this dinky little website I've just put up -

    The end of the game.com @ http://gcom.oldergames.com/

Please note that this website is a project done in my spare time, therefore it may not be updated very often, or at all. In the event that it is updated, I'll try to remember to post about it here. At any rate, if you feel like killing 5 minutes, head on over and see if you find any of this stuff interesting. Pardon the crude design, but like I said, it's a spare time project.

    Enjoy...?

    Thanks for the site!

It's a miracle that no one has yet to create a Game.com emulator and/or dump existing games.

Maybe one day we can play them on a non-blurry screen!

Yeah I wouldn't mind playing Sonic Jam and Resident Evil 2 on an emulator.

Shame Castlevania: SOTN never came out. I remember even calling Tiger shortly after Game.Com died out to ask them about whether or not Castlevania would be released. They said it would not. :-)

You're welcome. I hope people find it interesting / useful. I had planned to launch the site with more features and content, but lack the free time to work it in. I thus figured it would be better to put something online rather than nothing.

All the commercially released cartridges have been dumped for several years. The MESS emulator includes preliminary game.com emulation - though it's not very useful and doesn't seem to be on the fast train to update town.

You say that now, but after 30 seconds of actually playing them, you'd change your tune.

The only games that I find fun on the system is Wheel of Fortune, Lights out, O Henry, etc. Those type of games are the only ones that I felt that the system excelled at. Or the only games that were worth playing without frustation. I would like to have the Backlit model.

Well, he did say it was a miracle that there's no emulator, after all. I'm sure he meant something like "travesty" but it was an apt Freudian slip.
