    Default PS3 data transfer QUESTION?

ok so i hate my online name, so i want to make a new PSN account. i know i can transfer my save data no problem and i know i have to earn all of my trophies back. here is what im really getting at, if i were to transfer over a game such as battlefield bad company 2 will i then be unable to earn my online achievements for something like unlocking a certain gun or for ranking up? also would i need a new VIP code?

this is a make or break deal for me because i play BF:BC2 like crazy

Ya, all of your stats are tied to your PSN name. The save data will just consist of your single player progress and settings.

If you create a new PSN name you'll lose everything and have to start from scratch.
    Gotta have it all!!!

You can put your PSN ID on up to FIVE PS3s.

I'm not that familiar with EA's VIP code system, but if it's data stored in their servers for your Battlefield profile tied to your PSN name, you should be fine transferring your PSN ID to another PS3 to log in and pick up where you left off.

If the VIP system is tied to your Battlefield 2 "save data" stored on the HDD, and IF that save data is "copy protected" then you wont be able to transfer it to another PS3 unless you do a full system-to-system backup/transfer via ethernet cable, and that basically over-writes EVERYTHING on the system receiving the transfer.

Supposedly it is possible to change your PSN name, but it requires a Japanese account.

Anyway, I'm going to guess that you can't transfer your Battlefield 2 VIP code as it is tied to your account. You can contact EA and see if they can do it, but I'd assume they can't or won't.

Also know that you'll have to reclaim your trophies by replaying your games. Some games will lock you from getting any trophies with saves different from your own. At least I think that's what the screen said when my brother tried to play LittleBigPlanet with my save.
