    Default Sega CD sound question

    Hey guys need some help with this one. I just got a sega cd from a buddy and everything works great except the sound. I played nba jam and the sound worked fine and it was an official game. Well, I downloaded the iso of the japanese version of sonic cd and did the whole conversion for us players and made a cue file for the mp3's and the game plays fine and the sound effects work, but the mp3's do not play. Even in the panel it detects all 35 of them but when I play them its silent. Also, I noticed on the back of the sega cd there are red and white stereo outputs but I didn't get a cable for that. So my question is, do you think it's the missing cable or is it the disc? Thanks. Just wanted to add that when I emulated it in K fusion the mp3's played. And both the genesis and sega cd are model 2.

    You need to convert the MP3's to WAV.

    I did try that but still no luck. I found out that some of the tracks make noise but the music just sounds like noise. I tried burning it twice, so I must be doing something wrong in the process. I took the iso, used convcd to make it us playable then converted all the mp3's to wav, then made a cue file for that iso and the wavs and burned using alchohol 120 by using the cue file. Maybe i'll start over, thanks anyway.

    All I can suggest is to use this to convert to different regions;

    You can use this to make a cue file if needed;

    This briefly talks about how to use Sega Cue Maker;

    And follow the steps here to burn it.

    Yeah, thanks, thats pretty much what I did. I got it to work. All I did was burn the disc with Nero instead of Alcohol and that did the trick.
